Pedestrian killed after I-35 hit-and-run accident

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – One man is dead after being struck by a vehicle while walking in the northbound lanes of I-35 early Friday morning.

According to KFOR, the incident occurred when 30-year-old Jeffery Rector was walking southbound in the northbound lanes of I-35  shortly before 4:00 a.m.near Oklahoma City. Rector was struck by an oncoming 2001 Chevrolet Blazer which promptly left the scene of the crash.

Rector was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. An investigation into the driver involved remains underway as of Friday afternoon.
