Pedestrian killed in Oklahoma City train accident

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – One person was killed after being struck by a train in northwest Oklahoma City early Friday morning.

According to KOCO, the incident was reported shortly before 4:00 a.m. near the intersection of Northwest 100th Street and Garnett Drive.

Police say the operator of the train attempted to stop by using the horn and emergency brake. However, the individual failed to move from the tracks before being fatally struck.

Details regarding the identity of the victim have not yet been released. No one else sustained any injuries as a result of the crash.
