DEL CITY, OK – The name of the person killed in a six-vehicle collision Tuesday in Del City has been released by investigators, according to KFOR.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. A 2012 Acura driven by 33-year-old Ricky Scott was going east on 10 Street when he strayed into the other lane and slammed into a Chevy Camaro. The impact of the crash propelled the Camaro to collide with a Chevy Silverado.

Scott’s vehicle was sent crashing into a Ford Explorer, a Cadillac CTS, and a Hyundai Accent.

Scott was not wearing a seatbelt, which resulted in him being ejected from his vehicle by the crash and dying at the scene.

In addition to the fatality, several injuries were sustained in the incident. The driver of the Silverado, a 58 year-old man, and the driver of the Explorer, age 37 were both hospitalized and released.  Multiple passengers sustained head, neck, and arm injuries.

Investigators say excessive speeds were what caused the accident.

Scott was the one who died from the crash. The nine who were injured were taken to the hospital by first responders.

Since Scott died, an investigation will not be held and no charges will be filed.
