EAKLY, OK (CADDO COUNTY) – A 70-year-old woman was killed, and two other people were injured in a crash in Caddo County yesterday that has been linked with inattentive driving.

According to KFOR, the crash occurred on Highway 58, south of County Road 1210, and southwest of Eakly, at about 1:30 p.m.

The driver of a 2002 GMC Yukon, a 23-year-old woman from Weatherford, reportedly looked away from the road while speaking to the victim, 70-year-old Donna G. Chasenah, also of Weatherford.

The car went off the right side of the highway in the process. The driver overcorrected the vehicle, causing it to overturn multiple times, then land in a ditch.

Chasenah was ejected about 80 feet from the vehicle. She was taken to the hospital in Oklahoma City, where she later died of her injuries.

Another passenger, a 24-year-old man from Weatherford, was pinned within the wreckage for about a half-hour. He and the driver were taken to the hospital, then later released.

Authorities have determined that inattentive driving was the cause of the crash.
