The parking garage of the Watergate Hotel in Washington D.C. collapsed, resulting in the injury of one person, USA Today reported on May 1.
According to fire department spokesperson Timothy Wilson, three levels of the Watergate Hotel garage collapsed. The woman, whose name was not released in reports, was brought to the hospital after suffering non-life threatening injuries. Reports revealed that the facility was undergoing construction when the collapse occurred. After an evacuation of the entire building, responding personnel confirmed that no other people were injured or missing on the premises. Watergate is well-known for the illegal activities in the 70’s that led to the resignation of late President Richard Nixon.
