9 year-old dead, three others, including 11-year-old, injured in Creek Co. crash

MANNFORD, OK (CREEK COUNTY) – A 9-year-old girl died and three others, including an 11-year-old boy, were injured in a rear-end collision in Creek County on Thursday, according to KFOR.

The accident happened around 5:15 p.m. on State Highway 48, south of Mannford when a 1992 Honda Accord was struck from behind by a 2010 Ford F150.

The 9-year-old girl, a passenger in the Honda, was pinned in the wreckage and suffered arm, internal, and head injuries during the crash. She was declared dead at the scene.

The other child passenger, 11, was taken to the hospital in Tulsa for the treatment of internal and arm injuries. The driver of the Honda, a 32-year-old woman from Bristow, was airlifted to the hospital in Tulsa and was admitted in critical condition, with injuries including damage to her head, internal organs, and arm. It is unclear at this time if the occupants of the Honda were wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened.

The Ford’s driver, a 22-year-old man from Mannford, was sent to the hospital for injuries to the arm and head. He was not wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened.

The Honda’s airbags did not activate during the crash, according to investigators.
