Hundreds of dive computers recalled

Rueters reported that on Tuesday August 5, nearly 400 dive computers sold in the U.S. and Canada were recalled by Johnson Outdoors Diving. These wristwatch-style diving computers are at an increased risk of breaking.

California-based company Johnson Outdoors Diving issued recall to at least 390 “Scubapro Aladin2” dive computers that are worn on the wrist and used by divers to monitor important information needed while under water. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, scuba divers are at risk if the affected dive computers leak and stop working. Though no one was reportedly injured by the devices, several complaints related to broken computers were reported to Johnson Outdoors Inc.

Though no one was reportedly injured by the defective dive computers, many people suffer serious injuries from using defective devices. Thousands of heating boilers with potential to cause CO poisoning recalled

Over 26,000 house heating boilers have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) due to risk of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning, an article on Thursday, January 9 stated.

The recall involves at least 26,000 units of gas-powered heating boilers made by U.S. Boiler and at least 191 units made by New Yorker Boiler. The CPSC explained that the recalled boilers may discharge a hazardous amount of carbon monoxide if the air pressure switch malfunctions when turning off the burners and causes a blocked vent.

Incidents of carbon monoxide poisoning involving the boilers were not reported before the recall.

Homeowners who have the recalled home burners are advised to contact the manufacturers from whom they bought the items for a zero cost check and repair.
