Man and 2 children dead, driver injured in Ottawa County crash

MIAMI, OK (OTTAWA COUNTY) – Three people, including two young boys, died and another person was injured in a crash in Ottawa County yesterday afternoon.

According to KFOR, the crash happened on Oklahoma Highway 10, southeast of Miami at 2:11 p.m. Police say a 1994 Honda Civic, being driven by a 23-year-old man from Joplin, Missouri, crashed for unknown reasons.

Three passengers in the Honda, 29-year-old Terry Wilikins, a 5-year-old boy, and a 7-year-old boy, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was taken to the hospital in Springfield, Missouri, for treatment of head and torso injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.

Chickasha single-car rollover accident kills driver and seriously injures two children

CHICKASHA, OK – A single-car rollover accident has killed the driver and seriously injured two children, according to a KFOR report

The driver and child passengers were traveling southbound down U.S. 81 in a Chevy Tahoe when the driver swerved off the road, corrected their steering, and rolled the vehicle. 

All occupants of the SUV were ejected during the accident, killing the driver and injuring the two children. 

The children were flown to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City are considered to be in serious condition.

Woman killed, another seriously injured when car collides with tree in Payne Co.

CUSHING, OK (PAYNE COUNTY) – A woman is dead and her passenger is in critical condition after a vehicle collided with a tree near Cushing early this morning.

According to KFOR, the collision occurred in the 3600 block of N Norfolk Road at 4:36 a.m., when 35-year-old Felicia Bradley, operating a 2009 Pontiac G6, went off the right side of the roadway.

Bradley overcorrected the vehicle, causing her to veer off the left side of the road and collide with a ditch. The vehicle was sent into the air before it slammed into a tree.

Bradley was trapped within the wreckage for about two hours, before fire officials managed to recover her body. She died at the scene.

34-year-old Christy Lowe, a passenger, was ejected during the crash. She was airlifted to the hospital in Tulsa with multiple life-threatening injuries, including those to the head and internal organs.

Both victims were not wearing their seatbelts when the collision occurred.

Authorities believe that alcohol may have played a role in the accident, though the investigation continues at this time.

Update: More information emerges in fatal Ponca City crash

PONCA CITY, OK – Additional details have emerged regarding the fatal collision outside Ponca City that killed two and sent two others to the hospital on Sunday.

According to Fox 25, the collision occurred that morning on State Highway 11, between Waverly Street and Union Street. 73-year-old Jerry Johns’s Ford F-150 drifted from the highway’s westbound lane into its eastbound lane, where it collided with a 2015 Ford Expedition. Johns and the Expedition’s driver, 74-year-old John Holden, both died at the scene.

We also know more about the two injured. A 38-year-old and a four-year-old who were passengers in Holden’s vehicle received injuries not believed to be life-threatening. They were taken to Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City and OU Children’s Hospital, and were listed in fair condition at the time Fox 25’s story was published.

2 dead in head-on crash in head-on collision in Ponca City

PONCA CITY, OK – Two men died in a head-on collision on State Highway 11 near Union Street Sunday morning, Oklahoma News 4 reports.

73-year-old Jerry Johns was driving west on SH-11 when he crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a vehicle driven by John Holden, 74. The two men were trapped in the wreckage for more than three hours before they were discovered. Emergency responders pronounced them dead at the scene.

An adult man and a child were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries not deemed to be life-threatening.

Ponca City Fire, Newkirk Fire and Kildare Fire all responded to the call.

Update: OHP seeks details on driver behind fatal I-40 crash

EL RENO, OK – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is requesting information from the public regarding the fatal accident that killed four people on I-40 Saturday.

Authorities believe that 33-year-old Ashley Louise Ricks was intoxicated when she crashed her 2017 Jeep Renegade head-on into a 2003 Hyundai, killing its four occupants. The collision occurred in the westbound lanes of I-40 near Country Club Road.

According to News 9, police had been unable to question Ricks as of that evening, because she was still in intensive care at the time. They’re asking anyone who may have seen Ricks earlier that evening to come forward with information about her behavior in the hours leading up to the crash.

One man dead, another injured in N Oklahoma accident

BLACKWELL, OK (KAY COUNTY) – A man is dead, and another man is injured following an accident Thursday near Blackwell, in northern Oklahoma.

According to KFOR, the accident happened around 12:35 p.m. on U.S. Highway 177, located about a mile north from the town.

The victim is 71-year-old Billy Dean Burrow, of Hunnewell, Kansas, who was driving a 1990 Ford pickup truck when the accident happened. Burrow traveled off the left side of the roadway and then collided with a concrete culvert.

His body was pinned within the wreckage for over an hour before his body was recovered by emergency crews.

A passenger in the vehicle, an unidentified, 53-year-old man from Hunnewell, was also harmed during the accident. He was airlifted to a hospital in Kansas and was later released after treatment. The passenger was wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened, while Burrow was not.

Broken Arrow man dies in speeding-related Wagoner Co. collision

OKAY, OK (WAGONER COUNTY) – A man from Broken Arrow died Saturday after a two-vehicle collision in Wagoner County that possibly involved excessive speeds and a driver under the influence, reports Tulsa World.

The accident happened on East 100th Street North, near Okay.

The victim is 26-year-old Tyler Smith of Broken Arrow, who was a passenger in a Camaro when the accident happened.

The driver of the Camaro was traveling at a high speed, then lost control of the vehicle and traveled off the roadway. The Camaro then overcorrected, crossed over the center line, and went into the left lane. The Camaro then struck an oncoming 1997 Dodge pickup truck.

In the aftermath, Smith was pinned in the wreckage before emergency officials managed to extract him. He was pronounced dead at the hospital with injuries sustained during the crash that included wounds to the head and torso.

A passenger inside the Dodge was also taken to the hospital and later released.

The driver of the Camaro was taken to the hospital for the treatment of leg and torso wounds. They were reportedly under the influence at the time of the accident but are not recorded as having been charged with a crime.
