Seminole man killed, 22-year-old hurt in fiery, wrong-way crash east of OKC

CHOCTAW, OK (OKLAHOMA COUNTY) – A man from Seminole was killed and another person was severely injured in a dramatic, wrong-way collision early this morning east of Oklahoma City, according to KFOR.

The crash happened on I-40, east of Choctaw Rd and west of S Triple X Rd at about 1:20 a.m. when a 37-year-old driver collided with another vehicle head-on, setting both of the cars on fire.

The 37-year-old driver, Seminole man Matthew Clyde Harvard, died at the scene.

The other driver, a 22-year-old man from Oklahoma City, was taken to the hospital for the treatment of serious injuries, including those to the arm and leg.

Driver killed following I-40 crash in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – One person was killed after crashing into a concrete barrier along I-40 in downtown Oklahoma City early Wednesday morning.

According to KOCO, the accident was reported at about 1:25 a.m. on the off-ramp from I-40 to Sheilds Boulevard. Police say only one vehicle was involved in the crash.

Details regarding the cause of the collision or the identity of the driver have not yet been released by Oklahoma City Police.

The I-40 off-ramp was shut down for a few hours while the crash was investigated and cleared from the roadway. It has since been reopened.

Teenager killed in collision northwest of Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma City police are investigating a head-on crash that killed a 16-year-old passenger and hospitalized two others Tuesday morning.

According to KFOR, the accident happened along Northwest 150th Street near the intersection with MacArthur Boulevard at about 4:30 a.m.

Officials believe the 17-year-old driver of a Mercedes was traveling at high speeds when they lost control of the vehicle and careened into an oncoming car. The passenger of the Mercedes was pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers involved were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

One killed, two hospitalized following Northwest Oklahoma City crash

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Police in northwest Oklahoma City are investigating the cause of a multi-vehicle crash that left one dead and two seriously injured Tuesday morning.

According to News on 6, the accident occurred when a vehicle traveling westbound on Northwest 150th Street near N MacArthur Boulevard veered into the eastbound lane and struck an oncoming car.

The westbound vehicle flipped over and burst into flames, killing one passenger and sending another to the hospital. The other vehicle also overturned and one occupant was hospitalized.

Suspect arrested in crash that killed an Oklahoma City woman

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK  – Sterling Jackson was arrested in Oklahoma City Monday after fleeing the scene of a crash that killed his girlfriend, Nakia Johnson, 40, on Sunday.

According to News9, Oklahoma City police found a car nearly split in half and Johnson dead in the passenger seat following the crash at 54th Street and Kelley Avenue. Jackson, the driver of the car, was nowhere to be found following the incident.

He was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with fleeing the scene of a deadly crash. While the victim’s family believes the crash was no accident, police are still looking into what may have caused it.

UPDATE: State senator injured in highway crash is released from the hospital

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma Senator Allison Ikley-Freeman has been discharged from the hospital after sustaining injuries in a crash that killed another motorist on the Turner Turnpike.

Ikley-Freeman was seriously injured on May 22 when her vehicle hydroplaned and crashed into another motorist who had also skidded off the road. The other motorist was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Tulsa World, she has been transported to a local rehabilitation facility for the remainder of her recovery.
