House explosion destroys home and injures two residents in Grady County

GRADY CO., OK – Officials with The Grady County Fire Department say an explosion destroyed a home on Saturday and seriously injured two of its residents, reports KFOR.

Firefighters received a report of an explosion with injuries at a residential home around 6 p.m. on Saturday. When they responded, they discovered two residents inside the house had sustained injuries from the explosion and a subsequent flash fire.

Both of the injured residents had serious burns and were taken to Comanche Memorial Hospital before being transported by helicopter to medical facilities in Oklahoma City. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

According to authorities, a preliminary investigation determined the explosion was related to a propane fuel source.

The home was completely destroyed in the explosion and fire.
