Man struck, killed by object sticking out of trailer near Okemah

OKEMAH, OK – A pedestrian was fatally struck by an object sticking out of a trailer as he was walking on I-40 earlier this month, KTUL reports.

On September 2, Kip Keith, 34 was walking on the shoulder of I-40 in a construction zone near Okemah when he collided with the object.

Emergency crews responded to the incident around 4 p.m. and pronounced Keith dead at the scene.

The driver did not stop after the incident.

The collision happened on eastbound I-40 west of El Reno late yesterday morning.

Driver on I-40 blows tire, gets struck by semi-truck

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A driver on I-40 blew a tire, lost control of their vehicle, and was then struck by a semi-truck, reports Shardaa Grey.

The crash happened around 7:49 a.m. Wednesday morning on the part of westbound I-40 near S Harrah Rd.

After colliding with the vehicle, the semi-truck went off the roadway and into a wooded area.

Emergency crews closed all lanes of traffic in the area in order to retrieve the semi-truck from the trees in the wooded area.

The driver of the vehicle was hospitalized. Their condition is unknown at this time. According to troopers, the driver of the semi-truck is in stable condition.

Motorcyclist in Del Mar Laning hospitalized after striking attenuator

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A motorcyclist was hospitalized after slamming into an attenuator on Sunday afternoon, reports Guthrie News Page.

Gary L Staley, 60, was riding a Harley Davidson on I-40 around 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

As Staley got onto the ramp from westbound I-40 to southbound I-35, he lost control of the motorcycle, left the road, and slammed into an attenuator.

The impact launched Staley 71 ft into a bridge support. Staley was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

He was hospitalized at OU Medical Center with injuries to both his external and internal trunk, head, arms, and legs.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A crash on I-40 took the life of a woman on Saturday, reports KOKH.

The people involved in the accident have been identified. Donald Grantham Jr., 34, was driving west on I-40 with Angela Brown as his passenger. Grantham took to the I-40 exit when, for reasons unknown, he left the road and crashed.

The impact of the accident ejected both Grantham and Brown. Brown was taken to the hospital where she died from her injuries. Grantham’s condition is not known at this time.

First responders reported to the section of I-40 near Martin Luther KingAve at around 2:30 a.m., after receiving reports of a driver striking a body in the road.

OKEMAH, OK – A car accident on Wednesday evening in Okfuskee County killed two people, reports KTUL.

The crash happened somewhere on I-40 east of Okemah and was reported to the Highway Patrol at 8:45 p.m.

Richard Johnston, 70, and his wife, Connie Johnston, age unknown, were heading east on I-40 when the vehicle strayed off the highway and into a tree. The Johnstons were pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.

MULDROW, OK – A senior citizen was killed during a crash near Muldrow in Sequoyah County on Wednesday, reports KTUL.

Troopers were dispatched to the stretch of I-40 west of Muldrow around 2 a.m. Clarence Cox, 75, was driving a semi-truck and died at the scene of the accident.
