1 man dead, 1 hospitalized after truck flies off I-40 overpass near Hinton

HINTON, OK (CADDO COUNTY) – A man from Tennessee was killed and another man was injured after a semi-truck went off the side of the I-40 overpass near Hinton early this morning, according to KFOR.

The crash happened at 1:45 a.m. about a mile west of Hinton on eastbound I-40, when a 2020 Freightliner semi-truck went off the right side of the overpass. It fell about thirty feet before crashing into an embankment.

27-year-old Marquez McDowell, who had been riding in the sleeper compartment, was ejected 80 feet during the crash.

59-year-old Andre Hood, of Covington, Tenn., was pinned within the wreckage for about 20 minutes. He was extricated and taken to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

McDowell was taken to the hospital in Oklahoma City for the treatment of head, internal, and external torso injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash at this time.

Injuries reported in early-morning crash on I-40 and Rockwell Ave

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person was injured in a collision on I-40 in west Oklahoma City early this morning, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.


The crash occurred on westbound I-40, near the off-ramp for Rockwell Avenue, before 1:50 a.m.

At least one person suffered injuries in the crash.

The accident prompted the closure of the off-ramp for a short time as investigators worked the scene.

By 3 a.m., the roadway was clear.

Lawton man killed after crashing car into bridge in Caddo County

BINGER, OK (CADDO COUNTY) – A man from Lawton died after crashing into a bridge in Caddo County yesterday morning, according to KOKH.

The crash occurred on Highway 152 near Binger, when 39-year-old Lawton man Kenneth Deshong’s vehicle went off the side of the road. The car then crashed into a concrete bridge.

Deshong died at the scene.

No other injuries were immediately reported.

19-year-old and 20-year-old killed in head-on crash in Duncan

DUNCAN, OK – Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle head-on collision on Highway 81 in Duncan on Thursday evening, according to KFOR News.

The crash happened on northbound US-81 at about 7:30 p.m., as the 20-year-old driver of a 2006 Mini Cooper, identified as Kennedy Caldwell, attempted to pass a 2002 Toyota Camry.

In the process, the Mini Cooper collided head-on with a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado coming in the opposite direction. The Camry then crashed into the Mini Cooper.

Caldwell died at the scene. Her passenger, Connor Slocum, 19, was also declared dead at the scene of the crash.

The other two drivers were not reported as injured.

Two 18-year-olds critically injured in single-vehicle crash near Mazie

MAZIE, OK (MAYES COUNTY) – Two 18-year-olds suffered critical injuries during a single-vehicle rollover accident in Mayes County this afternoon, according to OKC FOX.

The crash happened near Mazie on 620 Road, when a driver went off the side of the road, then crashed into a fence.

One of the two victims, an 18-year-old passenger, was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled over.

She and another 18-year-old victim were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The passenger was reportedly not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Police continue to investigate the crash.

21-year-old dead, 1 critically injured in wrong-way crash on I-40

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A 21-year-old woman died, and another person was left in critical condition as a result of a multi-vehicle wrong-way crash on I-40 early this morning, according to KOCO News.

The crash happened on eastbound I-40, near I-235, at about 2:10 a.m., as the driver of a red 2006 Ford Focus, 21-year-old Oklahoma City resident Brooklyn K. Murphy, was headed westbound, against the flow of oncoming traffic.

Murphy’s vehicle collided head-on with a gray 2019 Honda Accord, then overturned.

The impact sent the Accord off the side of the road and onto the shoulder.

The driver of a white 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe then collided with the Focus.

Murphy died at the scene.

The driver of the Accord was taken to the hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.

The two occupants of the Tahoe were not hospitalized, according to the report.

Elderly motorcyclist killed in rollover accident in NW Oklahoma

BOISE CITY, OK (CIMARRON COUNTY) – An elderly man was killed after his motorcycle flipped over multiple times in northwestern Oklahoma yesterday afternoon, according to KOCO News.

The crash occurred on eastbound Highway 64 when 71-year-old Woodward man Joseph T. Castor was unable to properly negotiate a curve in the roadway. His vehicle, a 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, went off the side of the road and overturned five times. The motorcycle then came to a rest in a field near the highway.

Castor was taken to the hospital in Boise City, and there he was later declared deceased.

No other people were injured in the crash.

22-year-old killed, driver injured in 3-vehicle crash in Purcell

PURCELL, OK (MCCLAIN COUNTY) – A multi-vehicle crash led to the death of a 22-year-old woman and the injury of another woman in McClain County late last night, according to KFOR.

The accident happened at about 11:40 p.m. in Purcell on I-35 N, near mile marker 99.5, when a 2010 Honda Accord, a 1993 GMC pickup truck, and a third vehicle collided.

A passenger in the Accord, 22-year-old Oklahoma City woman Keondre Hamilton, died at the scene.

She was not wearing her seatbelt at the time and may have been ejected during the crash.

The driver of the Accord, a 26-year-old woman from Oklahoma City, was taken to the hospital in Norman with undisclosed injuries, then later released.

The driver of the GMC, a 38-year-old man from Grayling, Michigan, was not reported as injured.

No information was immediately released about the third vehicle or its driver.

The accident remains under investigation.
