Injuries reported in late-night crash on Turner Turnpike near Kellyville

KELLYVILLE, OK (CREEK COUNTY) – At least one person was injured in a crash on the Turner Turnpike in Creek County late last night, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.


The crash occurred on the eastbound turnpike, near mile marker 212 in Kellyville, just before midnight.

At least one person was injured in the crash.

The roadway was partially closed as a result of the accident.

24-year-old woman killed in Logan County tractor-trailer crash

LOGAN CO., OK – Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol have identified the woman killed in a collision involving a tractor-trailer Thursday morning.

According to KFOR, the accident took place at about 10:25 a.m. along I-35 a few miles north of Guthrie.

Investigators believe Kristen N. Benham, 24, lost control of her 2008 Dodge Ram and collided with a cable barrier before traveling into the southbound lanes where the pickup truck was hit by an oncoming tractor-trailer. Both vehicles caught fire following the accident.

Benham’s body was trapped inside her vehicle for several hours following the crash. She was pronounced dead after being extricated by fire crews.

It is still unclear what caused Benham to lose control of her vehicle.

16-year-old dead after collision with deer, semi-truck in Roger Mills Co.

ROGER MILLS COUNTY, OK – A 16-year-old boy was killed after he collided with a deer, and then with a semi-truck in Roger Mills County on Thursday night, according to KOKH.

The accident happened on eastbound Highway 33 at about 7 p.m., when the 16-year-old struck a deer, then swerved into the left lane. He collided with an oncoming semi-truck and was ejected from his vehicle.

The victim, whose hometown was not released, died at the scene.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital for the treatment of non-critical injuries, and was later released.

One driver killed, another hospitalized following collision on U.S. Hwy 75 near Owasso

TULSA, OK – A Sperry man was killed and another driver was hospitalized following a collision on U.S. Highway 75 near Owasso, reports News Channel 8.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol say troopers arrived at the scene at the intersection of U.S. Hwy 75 and 96th Street North at about 9:15 a.m. The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of U.S. Hwy 75.

Authorities identified the victim as 59-year-old Carl McCarty of Sperry, the driver of a Toyota Corolla involved in the accident.

McCarty sustained critical injuries and was transported a nearby hospital in Owasso, where he later passed away.

The other driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital in Tulsa.

Resident slams truck into apartment complex office in southeast Tulsa

TULSA, OK – News on 6 reported that a resident of the Cascata Apartments at East 81st Street and South Mingo Road in southeast Tulsa slammed his truck into the offices of the complex on Thursday morning.

Officers said the driver struck two stone pillars, a pole, and a light pole while reversing his truck in front of the offices, causing significant damages to the property.

According to police, the driver lives at the apartment complex and subsequently left the scene before parking and entering his apartment. Authorities tracked down the vehicle and then met with the man in his apartment, where he told police that he was responsible for crashing into the building.

The man has not been charged, though police recorded his information.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.

Multi-vehicle crash in McCurtain County leaves one person dead, another in critical condition

BETHEL, OK – According to KTBS 3, Oklahoma State troopers say a woman was killed and another was critically injured in a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 259 in McCurtain County last Thursday, Jan. 7th.

35-year-old Nicole Jacobs of Pawhuska was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 259 when her vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck two other vehicles just past the Bethel Cutoff Road intersection.

The collision report stated 69-year-old Ellen Tom of Poteau, the driver of the second car involved, and Jacobs were both stuck in their vehicles for about half an hour.

After being rescued, Tom and Jacobs were airlifted to a hospital in Plano, Texas. Tom was declared deceased from her injuries at the hospital and Jacobs is in critical condition.

The motorists in the third vehicle, a driver and a passenger, did not suffer any injuries.

31-year-old man killed in crash with semi-truck on I-35 in Love County

LOVE CO., OK – Authorities say a 31-year-old man from Ardmore was killed after his vehicle collided with a semi-truck on Interstate 35 at mile marker 5, reports The Daily Ardmoreite.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s collision report stated the accident occurred at about 1:15 a.m. on Sunday near Thackerville.

31-year-old Anthony Torres of Ardmore was driving northbound on I-35 when his vehicle rear ended a semi-truck at a high speed, then left the roadway and hit a guardrail.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Torres was declared deceased at the scene. The semi-truck driver did not suffer injuries.

Fatal accident on I-44 under investigation by Oklahoma Highway Patrol

TULSA, OK – According to News on 6, Oklahoma Highway Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances of a fatal single-car accident on I-44  near East Admiral Place Thursday night.

OHP said the accident occurred around 11 p.m. on Thursday, when the driver of a westbound vehicle on I-44 lost control and crashed into the barrier off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then spun into oncoming lanes of traffic but fortunately no other cars were struck.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, authorities have not released the victim’s identity and it is unclear what led the driver to lose control of the vehicle. We will update this blog if more details are made public.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigate fatal accident on Highway 412 in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – Officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol say a black car traveling eastbound on Highway 412 in Tulsa was involved in a fatal single-vehicle accident, reports KJRH.

According to authorities, the black car traveling east on Highway 412 exited the roadway and crashed into a nearby ditch. One motorist was ejected from the vehicle, though it is not yet clear whether it is the same motorist who was killed in the accident.

OHP troopers are investigating the crash and what led the black car to exit the roadway.

The on-ramp to Highway 412 at South 65th West Avenue was temporarily closed to traffic while officials responded to the scene.
