Passenger killed in two-vehicle crash on Hwy 74

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A passenger was killed following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 74 on Saturday afternoon, reports news 9.

36-year-old Alfonso Herrera and his two children were traveling northbound on Highway 74 when one of their vehicle’s tires blew out. This blowout caused Herrera to veer into southbound traffic and collide with an oncoming vehicle.

Summer Jimenez, 22, drove the impacted vehicle. Jimenez’s single passenger, Virginia Hill, 38, was flown via Medi-flight to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where she was pronounced dead by medical professionals.

Vehicle fire blocks lane I-35 in Logan County

LOGAN CO., OK – Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to a vehicle fire along I-35 Monday night.

According to a tweet from OHP, the incident was reported just before 9 p.m. within the southbound lanes of I-35 near Seward Road.

The cause of the blaze is unclear at this time. However, no injuries were reported as a direct result of the crash.

The outside lane was closed for around an hour, reopened at about 10 p.m.

28-year-old woman injured in Stillwater rollover crash

STILLWATER, OK – A woman was seriously injured following a single-vehicle crash just south of Stillwater early Monday morning.

According to the Ponca Post, the accident took place at about 1:60 a.m. along South Perkins Road near the intersection with East 70th Street.

Police say 28-year-old Elizabeth J. Cook, of Noble, lost control of her 2021 Jeep Wrangler for unknown reasons and rolled over a number of times before coming to rest in the roadway.

Cook was rushed to Stillwater Medical Center in critical condition then transported to OU Medical Center for further treatment.

Chickasha single-car rollover accident kills driver and seriously injures two children

CHICKASHA, OK – A single-car rollover accident has killed the driver and seriously injured two children, according to a KFOR report

The driver and child passengers were traveling southbound down U.S. 81 in a Chevy Tahoe when the driver swerved off the road, corrected their steering, and rolled the vehicle. 

All occupants of the SUV were ejected during the accident, killing the driver and injuring the two children. 

The children were flown to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City are considered to be in serious condition.

1 hospitalized after 2 fire trucks collide in Osage County

PAWHUSKA, OK – One person was hospitalized with serious injuries after two fire trucks collided west of Pawhuska on Wednesday.

According to KGGF Radio, the accident occurred on County Road 3660 about eight miles west of Pawhuska.

Troopers say the two fire trucks collided head-on due to poor visibility and high winds in the area.

The driver in one of the trucks, Caleb Drummond, was ejected from the vehicle and thrown nearly 70 feet. He was rushed to St. John Medical Center for treatment of serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.

The other driver, Ladd Drummond, sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention.

2 drown after Jeep crashes into water near Pocola

POCOLA, OK – Two people were found dead after their vehicle crashed off the road and into a body of water in LeFlore County last Thursday.

According to KNWA, Auraha Pipkins, 43, of Cameron, Oklahoma, lost control of her vehicle for unknown reasons and veered into the water on private property several miles southwest of Pocola.

Both Pipkins and her passenger, 76-year-old Billie Carpenter, went underwater and never resurfaced. The pair were recovered by an OHP dive team some time later submerged in the Jeep about 12 feet underwater.

The precise location of the incident is not mentioned in the report.
