Car collides with pole in SW OKC, 1 injured, over 2000 without power

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A vehicle collided with a pole in southwest Oklahoma City this evening, causing at least one person to be injured and over 2000 people to go without power.

According to KFOR, the crash happened near the intersection of S Eagle Lane and SW 29th Street at about 6:35 p.m., when a vehicle collided with a utility pole.

At least one person sustained an undisclosed injury as a result of the crash.

2484 customers of Oklahoma Gas & Electric went without power.

Authorities closed parts of 29th Street for the investigation and cleanup of the crash.

The identity of the victim was not immediately released.

Driver killed in wrong way crash on U.S. 169 & S. 4050 Rd near Collinsville

COLLINSVILLE, OK – A wrong way driver was killed in a head-on crash on U.S. Highway 169 at the South 4050 Road intersection north of Collinsville on Sunday morning.

According to Tulsa World, the accident occurred at 2:13 a.m., when a driver traveling the wrong way in the northbound lanes of U.S. 169 slammed into a northbound vehicle at a high speed and then caught fire.

The wrong way driver was declared deceased at the scene. The two motorists from Morristown, TN, in the other vehicle were not hurt.

Authorities have not yet identified the driver who was killed.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A woman was hurt after her car flipped into a ditch on I-44 this afternoon in an accident that led multiple witnesses to come to her aid.

According to KOCO, the crash happened on northbound I-44 near Airport Road when the driver of a red car lost control of her vehicle. The car went into a ditch, rolling over an unspecified number of times before landing on its roof.

Multiple bystanders stopped to aid the victim, who was transported to the hospital for the treatment of unspecified injuries.

The victim is expected to recover and is reportedly in good condition.

The accident happened on southbound I-35, near SE 15th St and was reported by OHP at 2:38 p.m.

Two in critical condition after early-morning Tulsa County crash

SPERRY, OK (TULSA COUNTY) – Two people sustained life-threatening injuries in a car accident near Sperry early yesterday morning, according to a report by News on 6.

The accident happened about 3.5 miles east of Sperry, located about ten miles north of Tulsa, on I-75 and N 106th early Saturday when two vehicles collided.

Both drivers sustained critical wounds in the accident and were taken to the hospital for treatment. Their identities have not yet been released to the public.

No other injuries were reported in the collision.

Single-car crash leaves man dead near Ramona

RAMONA, OK- A man is dead after a car crash involving one vehicle happened near Ramona on Friday morning, according to Tulsa World.

Officials say 47-year-old Anthony Niko was driving a 2014 Ford Focus heading towards U.S. 75 near County Road 3500 at approximately 6:35 am before crashing the vehicle.

When emergency responders arrived at the scene, Niko was pronounced dead.

During the crash,  police say Niko was wearing his seatbelt and his airbag deployed properly.

Troopers reported that at the time, the weather was foggy, but the roads were dry.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated.

Woman killed in semi truck-related accident in Pontotoc County

BYNG, OK – A woman was killed in an accident in Pontotoc County on Monday morning, according to News 12.

Police say the crash took place on U.S. Highway 377 and Broadway Street at around 5:45 am.

According to officials, 32-year-old Katherine Hall was driving westward at the time. She did not properly stop at a stop sign and was hit by a semi truck in the intersection.

Hall, who was thrown 60 feet from her vehicle by the force of the crash, died at the scene.

Both the driver and the passenger of the semi truck were treated at a local hospital.

Local police say Hall was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Man crashes car, tries to climb church in attempt to escape OKC police

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man was hurt after earlier today after crashing his vehicle during a police pursuit, then climbing to the top of an OKC church in an attempt to escape, according to News on 6.

The chase began after police officers recognized a trailer that had been reported as stolen, and attempted to stop the driver of the towing vehicle.

The suspect then sped off towards I-44, reaching high speeds of about 70 mph before he finally crashed on NW 36th Street.

The driver attempted to flee the scene on foot and in an effort to escape the officers, tried to climb to the top of a church located at the intersection between NW 36th and Walker.

He was taken into police custody and was treated at the scene for undisclosed injuries.
