Update: Police identify victim who crashed at NE 23rd St and Sooner Rd

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Police have identified the woman who died at the hospital following a crash at NE 23rd St and Sooner Rd Monday, News 9 reports.

Susanna Scheiler, 77, was a passenger in the back seat of an SUV that collided with another vehicle around 11:30 a.m. The SUV occupied by Scheiler continued north after the crash before it went into a pond.

The driver and another passenger were able to escape the SUV through the sunroof. A dive team extricated Scheiler from the back seat of the vehicle. They then performed CPR on her and transported all three people to an area hospital, where Scheiler later died.

Authorities have not released details concerning the condition of the other people involved in the crash.

Lane blocked following early-morning crash on John Kilpatrick Turnpike

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Troopers blocked at least one lane along the John Kilpatrick Turnpike early Friday morning.

According to a tweet by OHP, the accident occurred at about 7:41 a.m. within the westbound lanes of the turnpike near the exit to Western Avenue.

It is still unclear exactly what led up to the crash. However, no injuries have been reported as a result.

The left lane was blocked for just under an hour while emergency crews worked to clear the scene. All lanes have since been reopened.

3-vehicle injury collision partially blocks lanes on I-235

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported at least one injury resulting from a collision involving several vehicles on I-235.

According to a tweet by OHP, the accident took place at about 11:14 a.m. Tuesday within the southbound lanes of the interstate near the I-40 interchange.

The cause of the crash is unclear at this time. However, troopers say three vehicles were involved and injuries were sustained as a result.

2 drown after Jeep crashes into water near Pocola

POCOLA, OK – Two people were found dead after their vehicle crashed off the road and into a body of water in LeFlore County last Thursday.

According to KNWA, Auraha Pipkins, 43, of Cameron, Oklahoma, lost control of her vehicle for unknown reasons and veered into the water on private property several miles southwest of Pocola.

Both Pipkins and her passenger, 76-year-old Billie Carpenter, went underwater and never resurfaced. The pair were recovered by an OHP dive team some time later submerged in the Jeep about 12 feet underwater.

The precise location of the incident is not mentioned in the report.

Two motorists injured in multi-vehicle crash on W Owen Garriott in Enid

ENID, OK – Two motorists were injured in a multi-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck on West Owen Garriott Road in Enid on Friday afternoon, reports Enid News & Eagle.

The collision occurred at 1500 W. Garriot Rd near McAlister’s Deli around 12:25 p.m.

According to Enid police, 23-year-old Sabrina Briggs was attempting to turn from the private drive at McAlister’s Deli and Wendy’s into the westbound lanes of Garriot in a 2014 Hyundai Elantra but failed to yield to an eastbound 2006 Chevrolet HHR.

The driver of the Chevrolet HHR, 44-year-old Melissa Hill, tried swerving to avoid a collision but did not have enough time. After colliding with Briggs’ vehicle, the HHR was sent crashing into a westbound 2000 Freightliner FLD semi-truck.

Both Hill and Briggs suffered head injuries that were not debilitating. EMS crews took both drivers to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center for treatment where they were stable in condition.

The semi-truck driver,  55-year-old Rickey Marten, was not injured in the crash.

According to the preliminary crash report, the three drivers were secured by seat belts and only Hill’s airbags were deployed. All three vehicles were disabled by the crash and required towing from the roadway.

Two people dead, another injured in Henryetta UTV vs pickup crash

HENRYETTA, OK – Two men were killed and another person was injured when a UTV crashed into another vehicle in an accident in the Henryetta area on Friday, according to News 9.

The accident happened early Friday morning when the victims, Brice McGirt, 25, and Nicholas King, 33, struck a pickup truck with their UTV.

The occupants of the UTV died as a result of the accident.

The pickup truck’s driver, who was not publicly identified, was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate the collision at this time.

One killed in head-on collision in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – Officials with the Tulsa Police Department have reported one fatality following a head-on collision Monday night.

The crash happened near the intersection of East Pine Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at about 9:00 p.m., according to News on 6.

Police say a female driving a Buick was traveling southbound on MLK Blvd. when she entered the oncoming lane, striking a Ford Edge head-on.

The driver of the Buick was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The other driver was taken to the hospital as well, their injuries remain unknown at this time.

Collision blocks lanes on Turner Turnpike

SAPULPA, OK – Officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol were forced to close down the eastbound lanes of the Turner Turnpike following an injury crash late Friday afternoon.

According to the official Twitter page of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the collision occurred just after 3:45 p.m. along the turnpike a few miles west of Sapulpa.

Officials have reported injuries resulting from the crash. However, the number of people hurt, and the extent of thier injuries has not been made public as of yet.

The eastbound lanes were shut down for some time causing motorists to find an alternate route throughout the early evening hours Friday

Tulsa rush-hour collision halts traffic

TULSA, OK – Officials in Tulsa have reported significant delays resulting from a rush-hour collision west of downtown Monday evening.

According to News on 6, the crash occurred within the westbound lanes of Interstate 244 sometime before 6:00 p.m. Authorities with the Tulsa Sheriff’s office said there were two vehicles involved in the crash.

One small child was pulled from the wreckage and another individual needed to be cut out of their vehilce. No word on the seriousness of their injuries or if anyone else was injured as a result has been made available as of yet.

Officials question driver involved in Tulsa duplex crash

TULSA, OK – Investigators with the Tulsa Police department are looking into what may have caused a motorist to collide with a duplex near downtown.

According to News on 6, the crash occurred at a home near the intersection of 21st Street and Memorial Drive. A small child was inside the house at the time of the crash but sustained no injuries as a result.

The driver, who has not yet been identified, was taken into police custody.
