Spencer man looses eye in fireworks accident

SPENCER, OK – A fireworks accident cost a man an eye on July 4th, reports KFOR.

The accident happened during a celebration at Douglas and N.E. 36th St around 8:30 p.m.  According to the victim’s friends at the scene, the accident was caused by a firework malfunction that hit them in the eye.

Following the accident, the man was hospitalized. Medical personnel could not save the man’s right eye.

Update: Authorities release June 911 call of Deer Creek drowning

DEER CREEK, OK – More information concerning the June 16 drowning of Oluwatoyin Adewole Amuda, 18, has been released by authorities, reports KFOR.

The release is a roughly ten minute recording of the 911 call that was made after Amuda’s unresponsive body was found in the pool. On the recording, a woman is calling for help and she says her husband is performing CPR on a teenager.

A 911 operator is heard giving CPR instructions to the husband. Emergency crews arrive near the end of the recording. They remained on the scene and continued CPR for about a half hour.

The incident, which may involve underage drinking, is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.

Deer Creek, OK – More details have been released concerning the drowning of a teen in Deer Creek, reports News on 6.

The manner of death has been changed by the Medical Examiner from “accidental death” to pending.

Toyin Amuda was found unresponsive in a pool on the 21600 block of Villagio Dr around 2:30 a.m. on June 16. Despite life saving measures, Amuda died at the scene.

According to the police report, trash bags full of beer cans and liquor bottles were found at the scene, as was a marijuana cigarette.

Teen drowns in Deer Creek

DEER CREEK, OK – A teenager died in a drowning incident on June 16, reports KOKH.

First responders were dispatched to the 21600 block of Villagio Dr around 2:30 a.m. and found a teenager unresponsive in a pool.

Firefighters were on the scene and administered CPR to the teen until EMSA arrived. Despite their efforts, the teen was pronounced dead around 3:11 a.m.

The police reports states that alcohol and marijuana was found at the scene.

Firefighter injured putting out fires in Northeast Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A firefighter was injured while putting out a fire at a vacant church Sunday in Northeast Oklahoma City, reports Fox 25.

Firefighters were dispatched to 601 NE 2n St, which was the location of the former St. Timothy Sound Church of God in Christ, around 10:18 p.m.

Firefighters arrived and found the two story church completely engulfed in flames. Temperatures inside the building reached around 250 degrees.

While fighting the fire, a firefighter was injured when he fell two or three ft after the second floor collapsed. He was not seriously injured and was not hospitalized.

Crash in Lookeba kills two, injures one

LOOKEBA, OK – Two people were killed and a third injured in a collision outside of Lookeba Wednesday morning, reports Chickasha Today.

The incident took place on Country Road 1130, five miles east of Lookeba around 8 a.m. Shaun M. Tillman, 27, was driving a 1997 Dodge 3500  was going east on Country Road 1130 as a 2015 Honda driven by Gena L. Evans, 28,was heading west. The Dodge truck strayed into the westbound lane and struck the Honda

Evans expired on the scene.  Raylynn Lyday, 6, was also pronounced dead at the scene. An unidentified 5-year-old girl was taken to a nearby children’s hospital in fair condition. Tillman was also transported to an area hospital. He was eventually released.

Accident with injury reported in Northwest Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – An accident with injury was reported at Memorial Rd and Portland Ave on Monday morning, according to the Response and Accident tracker.

Two injured in van and ambulance collision in Catoosa

CATOOSA, OK- A collision involving a van and an ambulance in Catoosa injured two early Monday morning, reports KTUL.

The ambulance was traveling on Will Rogers Turnpike around 1 a.m. when it used the center median to turn around. A van then collided with the ambulance, injuring the two occupants of the van.

The two injured parties were picked up by another ambulance and taken to a nearby hospital. Authorities say they are in OK condition.

No patients were in the ambulance at the time of the accident.

Explosion at Kerr Dam traps, kills two workers

TULSA, OK – The bodies of two workers were trapped inside Kerr Dam following an explosion were found dead Friday morning, reports ABC 8.

Contractors hit a methane pocket while conducting core-sample drilling which cause an explosion around 6 p.m.

Three workers were trapped in the mine. One of the workers was extricated by emergency crews and he refused treatment for his injuries.

The other two were stuck 80 ft down in a shaft. Their bodies were discovered by recovery crews Friday morning.
