OKC and Yukon firefighters extinguish overnight fire at NW OKC gas station

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – According to News on 6, OKC and Yukon fire crews extinguished a fire at a Mr. C’s gas station in northwest Oklahoma City early Monday.

Authorities say the fire began at the Mr. C’s located near Northwest 10th Street and North Sara Road around 1:30 a.m.

OKC and Yukon firefighters responded to the scene and were able to extinguish the fire.

At this time, it is unclear what caused the fire and whether anyone was injured. This blog will be updated if more information is released.

Two people hurt after heater sparks garage fire in OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Two people were hurt after a garage caught fire in Oklahoma City this morning, according to KFOR.

The incident began at about 11:20 a.m. in the 1600 block of SE 51st Street when a space heater caused a garage to catch fire.

The blaze consumed the garage, then spread to the attic.

Two people suffered smoke inhalation injuries during the blaze and were treated at the scene.

The identities of the victims have not yet been made available.

Update: Victim in Thursday’s duplex fire has died of his injuries

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The man who was pulled from a fire at a duplex on Thursday succumbed to his injuries later that day, according to a report by KFOR.

The victim, who was pulled from the blaze in the 1200 block of North Villa just before 10:30 a.m., was taken to the hospital after firefighters at the scene performed emergency measures on him.

Despite CPR efforts and measures to counter possible cyanide poisoning from smoke inhalation, the victim, who remains unidentified at this time, died around 5 p.m.

The fire, likely caused by an electric source, also trapped a dog that was safely rescued and returned to its owner.

Elderly woman dead in NW OKC house fire

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A woman died this afternoon in a house fire on Northwest 43rd Street, in northwest Oklahoma City.

According to KOCO, a fire in the 4100 block of NW 43rd near Tulsa Avenue was reported to emergency officials just after noon.

The woman, who has not yet been identified out of respect for the family, was discovered lying inside the house next to a chair engulfed in flames.

Emergency crews declared the woman dead at the scene of the incident.

According to the family of the elderly woman, the victim had lived in the house for 40 years.

Investigators continue to look into the cause of the blaze, which was contained to a single room within the home.

Worker suffers electrical burns while replacing gutters in Helm Farm

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man was severely electrocuted while replacing gutters and required hospitalization, News9 reports.

The man was working at a business on the 1100 block of NW 2nd Street by Classen Boulevard when a piece of the gutter he was replacing touched the power lines and electrocuted him.

Firefighters from the Oklahoma City Fire Department rescued the man from the roof. He was taken to Integris Baptist Hospital with severe external and internal burns.

Man hospitalized after Meridian Ave duplex fire

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – An Oklahoma City duplex fire led to the hospitalization of one man this morning, according to a report by KOCO.

The incident was reported to fire officials around 9:45 a.m. at the 4200 block of Meridian Avenue.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they discovered a man inside the building. They pulled him from the fire and administered “advanced life support” before he was sent to the hospital.

According to KOCO’s report, the victim is in “extremely critical condition.”

The fire has since been extinguished.

Officials are currently investigating the cause of the fire.

Sunday afternoon fire in Bethany

BETHANY, OK – The fire departments of Yukon and Bethany, part of the western Oklahoma City metro area, are responding to a fire reported in Bethany this afternoon, according to a report by KOTV.

The blaze was extinguished around 4:15 p.m. and was reported at the 7000 block of Northwest 36th Street.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
