Driver collides with motorcyclist who ran red light near Winds West

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A pickup truck struck and critically injured a motorcyclist who ran a red light at SW 44th St and Council Rd Thursday, KFOR reports

Police were called to the scene of the accident around 7:42 p.m. The motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital in stable but severe condition. The pickup truck driver was not injured.

Officers do not believe impairment was a factor in the collision.

Driver flees after running over person’s feet at McDonald’s on 29th St

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A driver fled the area after running over someone’s feet in the drive-thru of the McDonald’s located at 1501 SE 29th St, KOCO reports.

According to witnesses, someone driving a maroon four-door pickup arrived at the McDonald’s sometime Sunday morning. After realizing the restaurant was closed, the driver angrily sped away, running over a bystander’s feet in the process.

The victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries following the incident.

Police are still looking for the suspect.

1 man dead, 1 hospitalized after truck flies off I-40 overpass near Hinton

HINTON, OK (CADDO COUNTY) – A man from Tennessee was killed and another man was injured after a semi-truck went off the side of the I-40 overpass near Hinton early this morning, according to KFOR.

The crash happened at 1:45 a.m. about a mile west of Hinton on eastbound I-40, when a 2020 Freightliner semi-truck went off the right side of the overpass. It fell about thirty feet before crashing into an embankment.

27-year-old Marquez McDowell, who had been riding in the sleeper compartment, was ejected 80 feet during the crash.

59-year-old Andre Hood, of Covington, Tenn., was pinned within the wreckage for about 20 minutes. He was extricated and taken to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

McDowell was taken to the hospital in Oklahoma City for the treatment of head, internal, and external torso injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash at this time.

Driver on I-40 blows tire, gets struck by semi-truck

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A driver on I-40 blew a tire, lost control of their vehicle, and was then struck by a semi-truck, reports Shardaa Grey.

The crash happened around 7:49 a.m. Wednesday morning on the part of westbound I-40 near S Harrah Rd.

After colliding with the vehicle, the semi-truck went off the roadway and into a wooded area.

Emergency crews closed all lanes of traffic in the area in order to retrieve the semi-truck from the trees in the wooded area.

The driver of the vehicle was hospitalized. Their condition is unknown at this time. According to troopers, the driver of the semi-truck is in stable condition.

SUV driver slams into fence in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – An SUV crashed through a brick fence at a home on Saturday morning, reports Fox 23.

The collision happened at a home near the intersection of 41st St and 129th E Ave.

Photos taken at the scene show a smashed-up, dark color SUV and a completely destroyed brick fence. The SUV struck the fence with such force that debris could be found on the roof of the house.

Police are still trying to determine what chain of events led up to the crash.

DUI driver in Newalla strikes, kills man

NEWALLA, OK – Clayton Lashley is dead after being struck by a drunk driver on Saturday, reports KOKH.

Lashley was in his truck backing out of his driveway, located on the 3600 block of S Peebly Rdm when, at around 10 p.m., a chair fell out of the back of the vehicle. He then exited his truck and turned on his flashers in order to retrieve the chair.

It was then that Ray Morgan, who was also driving a truck, struck a mailbox, Lashley’s truck, and then finally Lashley himself.

Morgan drove approximately 200 ft after striking Lashley before stopping.

Lashley’s truck was running and still had its flashers on by the time deputies arrived on the scene. Lashley was found between the two trucks. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Morgan’s truck had damage to its front end. Deputies assisted Morgan in exiting his truck and, in the process of doing that, noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from Morgan. According to the deputies, Morgan was also slurring his speech.

When asked by a deputy if he had been drinking, Morgan confirmed he had been.

Morgan was charged with one count of DUI and one count of Vehicular Homicide and was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.
