Oklahoma Senate candidate injured in OKC hit-and-run

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Abby Broyles, the Democratic nominee for a seat in the U.S. Senate was injured following a hit-and-run collision north of Oklahoma City Sunday night.

According to KOCO, the incident occurred near the intersection of Memorial Road and Western Avenue north of downtown Oklahoma City.

Broyles was proceeding through a traffic light when another vehicle ran the light and collided with her vehicle in the intersection. The other driver quickly fled the scene without rendering assistance to Broyles.

Luckily, only minor injuries were sustained in the crash and Broyles is recovering at home. Details on the driver who fled the scene of the crash have not yet been made available.

Injuries reported in Riverside rollover crash

TULSA, OK – Officials with the Tulsa Police Department have reported minor injuries resulting from a rollover crash near the Arkansas River in Tulsa Thursday evening.

According to News on 6, the multi-vehicle collision occurred along Riverside Drive around 8:00 p.m. Police say the driver in a pickup truck was attempting to make a left turn when they failed to yield to an oncoming SUV. The SUV collided with the truck, flipping it over onto a nearby sidewalk.

Emergency services treated occupants for minor injuries at the scene of the crash. The driver of the pickup truck may be facing DUI charges as a result.

Multi-vehicle crash closes lanes on Intestate 40

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol shut down a portion of Interstate 40 following a multi-vehicle collision near Oklahoma City late Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes on I-40 near the Fort Smith Junction and Interstate 35 shortly after 11:00 a.m., according to the Oklahoma City Highway Patrol official Twitter page. 

No injuries have been reported as a result of the collision. However, the outside lane was closed for several hours causing afternoon delays along I-40.

Child killed in Canadian County crash

CANADIAN COUNTY, OK – A nine-year-old child was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Canadian County early Wednesday morning.

According to KFOR, the crash involved three vehicles and took place along Interstate 40 west of Cimarron Road, shortly after 6:20 a.m.

Officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said that the child and two other victims were in a Kia Sorento which collided with a semi-truck and a 1979 Winnebago.

An 11–year-old, also in the Sorento, was treated and released from the hospital, while the 39-year-old female driver remains in serious condition.

No one else was injured as a result of the crash. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
