Vehicle fire reported east of Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Fire and Emergency Services in East Oklahoma City reported a vehicle fire along Interstate 40 Monday afternoon.

The accident occurred on I-40 eastbound near South Harrah Road shortly before 1:30 p.m, according to the Oklahoma City response and accident tracker. Officials have not reported any injuries as a result of the fire as of yet.

It is not clear what caused the vehicle to burst into flames. However, the situation is still developing. Authorities recommend motorists avoid the eastbound lanes of I-40 near Harrah Rd. throughout Monday afternoon as delays and closures are likely.

Residential fire reported in Southwest Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Fire officials in Oklahoma City responded to a house fire in a residential neighborhood near the Will Rogers World Airport Wednesday evening.

According to KOKH, the fire was reported at about 6:00 p.m. within the 5400 block of Monte Drive southwest of Oklahoma City. The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen of the home.

All occupants of the house were able to get out safely and the fire was extinguished quickly.

No word on what may have caused the fire has been made available yet.

House fire in Oklahoma City kills one

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Oklahoma City Fire Department responded to a house fire northwest of the city that left one person dead Sunday night.

According to KFOR, Fire officials responded to a call of breaking glass on the 3800 block of Northwest 32nd Street at about 9:15 p.m. Fire officials noticed the blaze as they arrived at the scene and immediately entered the home.

The fire was soon brought under control. However, one adult made was found dead on the couch where the fire was believed to be started. Two pets were safely taken from the home by Oklahoma City Animal Welfare.

No information regarding what may have started the fire has been released as of yet.

Officials investigate the cause of an overnight residential fire in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma City Fire officials are looking into the cause of a residential fire southwest of downtown early Thursday morning.

According to News 9, the call came in after midnight Thursday near the intersection of Southwest 29th Street and South Portland Avenue.

The one occupant inside the home was able to escape without any injuries. Fire crews believe the blaze likely started in the attic before spreading near a neighbors home.

Oklahoma City Fire officials battle large duplex blaze

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Officials in Oklahoma City are investigating the cause of a large duplex fire that occurred south of downtown early Tuesday morning.

According to KFOR, the report of a large fire near the intersection of Southeast 44th Street and Shields Boulevard came in at about 3:10 a.m. Crews believe the fire may have been intentionally set as it grew very fast at extraordinarily high temperatures.

All of those living in the duplex were able to escape without any injuries. One occupant believes they have information on who may have started the fire.

Vehicle Fire shuts down Meridian Avenue

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Fire officials in Oklahoma City responded to a vehicle that caught fire northwest of downtown late Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 3:17 p.m. near the intersection of North Meridian Avenue and Northwest 39th Street, according to the Oklahoma City response and accident tracker.

No injuries have been reported as of yet. However, this situation is still developing and that information will be provided as soon as it is made public by Oklahoma City Fire.

The blaze is likely to have this portion of Meridian Ave at 39th St. closed to a majority of the late afternoon into the early evening Monday.

Baltimore Hotel catches fire in Southwest Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma City fire officials responded a fire at the Baltimore Hotel Wednesday morning.

According to News9, the blaze erupted at the hotel at the corner of 3rd Street and Meridian Avenue at about 10:50 a.m. Authorities said the fire could be seen from another building close by which prompted them to head towards the scene.

The fire was extinguished not long after the fire department arrived. No injuries have been reported as a result of the fire. However, property damage could become a factor later on.
