Woman Dies After Oklahoma City Pedestrian Accident

A woman died Tuesday after a Oklahoma City pedestrian accident, police said.

According to officials with the Oklahoma City Police Department, 50 year-old Cheryl Bingham was struck by a car shortly before 10:30 a.m. Friday while crossing Northeast 23 just east of Martin Luther King Avenue. She was seriously injured in the crash and trasnported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment.

Bingham was pronounced dead Tuesday morning, Oklahoma City Police Department Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said.

Police say 39 year-old Tony Leroy Hankins was arrested on a complaint of leaving the scene of an injury accident. Police say a woman who saw the accident followed Hankins’ vehicle and gave directions to police.

It is not known if the complaints against Hankins have been amended in light of Bingham’s death.

1 pedestrian and 1 motorcyclist killed Saturday

Two men died in an Oklahoma City pedestrian accident Saturday night.  Authorities say that a 19-year-old was lying down in a county road when he was hit by a car at approximately 10:30 p.m.  The man sustained head injuries and internal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The 21-year-old Norman man who was driving the vehicle went uninjured.

A motorcyclist was also killed in a head-on collision with a car the same night.  Both vehicles were crossing a one-lane wooden bridge when the vehicles struck each other.  The biker, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown nearly 70 feet from the scene of impact and sustained a fatal head injury.  He was also pronounced dead at the scene.  No one in the car that struck the motorcycle was injured.
