Fatal overnight pedestrian accident in OKC under investigation

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A woman was killed in an overnight pedestrian accident on Interstate 44 near Martin Luther King Boulevard in the early hours of Sunday morning, reports FOX 25.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol say 19-year-old Denishia Oliver was walking along the highway following an accident when she was hit and killed by a car around 1 a.m. Sunday. Oliver was taken to OU Medical Center for treatment of her injuries but later died at the hospital.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of the crash. We will update this blog should more details become available.

Pedestrian hit and killed by multiple cars at dimly-lit intersection in NE OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man was killed after being hit by multiple vehicles in a dimly-lit area of northeast Oklahoma City last night, according to KFOR.

The accident happened before 9 p.m. near the intersection without streetlights, located at Stella and NE 36th St, when multiple vehicles hit a pedestrian.

The victim, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was discovered dead at the scene by a passing driver.

According to the report, the victim was wearing dark clothing at the time of the accident.

OKC authorities are investigating the fatal incident and are asking any possible witnesses to come forward.

One in critical condition after Oklahoma City hit-and-run

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – One person as hospitalized after being struck by a car in Southwest Oklahoma City on Friday morning.

According to KOCO, the incident was reported shortly after 4:00 a.m. along Walker Avenue near the intersection with Southwest 50th Street.

The victim was struck while walking with a shopping cart and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The driver fled the scene and is still on the run as of Friday evening.

Pedestrian sent to hospital after being hit by two cars

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by two vehicles, one of which fled the scene of the accident.

KFOR reports that the accident happened Thursday night near the intersection of South Sunnylane Road and Southeast 44th Street.

The male victim was taken to the hospital and treated for serious injuries that include a broken leg. He is expected to survive.

One of the cars that hit the victim fled the scene, while the other stayed to cooperate with the investigation.

There is no information available at this time regarding the identity of the victim or the description of the vehicles.

Bicyclist struck by car, severely injured in NE OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A woman was struck by a car and severely injured in Northeast Oklahoma City Monday, reports Oklahoma News 4.

The collision occurred on Monday at 10:20 p.m. near N.E. 36th Street and Kelley. The two vehicles were occupying the same lane, and the driver claimed to be unable to see her due to dark and stormy weather.

While the biker was not wearing proper safety equipment, fault has not yet been determined.

She was hospitalized with severe but non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests were made.

Pedestrian killed crossing I-44

COMANCHE, OK – A Lawton man was struck by a car and killed Tuesday on I-44 near Medicine Park, according to Texoma local news.

At 5:13 a.m. a 36-year-old unidentified man was crossing the eastbound lanes of I-44 when he was struck by Brad Tonneson, 36, in a 2007 Kia Rondo.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Tonneson suffered no injuries.

Car rolls over, hits pedestrian

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A person is hospitalized in a vehicle-pedestrian crash on Tuesday, as reported by News9.

The Accident occurred at SW 66th and May avenue.

Firefighters report the vehicle rolled over, then hit somebody.

One person was hospitalized.

Boy injured in Arpelar pedestrian accident

Information coming from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol stated that before 11:00 on the morning of Thursday, November 19, a boy, whose identity was not released, was struck by a Haywood Public School bus. The accident reportedly happened after the northbound school bus driver failed to notice the boy as he darted in front of the vehicle. The boy was run over with the rear portion of the bus and his parents transported him to a local hospital. He was later taken to a hospital in Tulsa to seek treatment for several injuries, including internal blunt force injuries. The bus operator was identified as 39-year-old Della Avona Cooper.

Woman Dies After Oklahoma City Pedestrian Accident

A woman died Tuesday after a Oklahoma City pedestrian accident, police said.

According to officials with the Oklahoma City Police Department, 50 year-old Cheryl Bingham was struck by a car shortly before 10:30 a.m. Friday while crossing Northeast 23 just east of Martin Luther King Avenue. She was seriously injured in the crash and trasnported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment.

Bingham was pronounced dead Tuesday morning, Oklahoma City Police Department Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said.

Police say 39 year-old Tony Leroy Hankins was arrested on a complaint of leaving the scene of an injury accident. Police say a woman who saw the accident followed Hankins’ vehicle and gave directions to police.

It is not known if the complaints against Hankins have been amended in light of Bingham’s death.

1 pedestrian and 1 motorcyclist killed Saturday

Two men died in an Oklahoma City pedestrian accident Saturday night.  Authorities say that a 19-year-old was lying down in a county road when he was hit by a car at approximately 10:30 p.m.  The man sustained head injuries and internal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The 21-year-old Norman man who was driving the vehicle went uninjured.

A motorcyclist was also killed in a head-on collision with a car the same night.  Both vehicles were crossing a one-lane wooden bridge when the vehicles struck each other.  The biker, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown nearly 70 feet from the scene of impact and sustained a fatal head injury.  He was also pronounced dead at the scene.  No one in the car that struck the motorcycle was injured.
