Man sent to hospital after hit-and-run outside nightclub, possibly mistaken for another man

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man was sent to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in a night club parking lot in an attack that may have been intended for another man.

According to KFOR, police have only recently released information regarding the attack, which occurred about two weeks ago at a night club located near Western and Southwest 74th Street.

The victim was walking across the parking lot when a blue and silver Ford F150 intentionally struck the victim, according to police video footage, before fleeing the scene.

The victim, who has yet to be publicly identified, was taken to the hospital for treatment, but luckily did not suffer serious injuries.

Authorities believe that the suspected driver had mistaken the victim for a man he had fought with inside the club. The suspect was kicked out of the club after security broke up a fight between him and another man.

Norman man ID’d as victim in I-40 pedestrian accident

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The victim in Thursday’s fatal pedestrian accident on Interstate 40 has been identified by authorities.

This is an update to a previous story.

According to KFOR, the victim is Norman man Corey Allen Smith, 36.

Smith was hit by a vehicle while on the highway, near Douglas Boulevard. According to initial reports, it was suspected that a semi-truck hit the victim.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.

Elderly woman dead in NW OKC house fire

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A woman died this afternoon in a house fire on Northwest 43rd Street, in northwest Oklahoma City.

According to KOCO, a fire in the 4100 block of NW 43rd near Tulsa Avenue was reported to emergency officials just after noon.

The woman, who has not yet been identified out of respect for the family, was discovered lying inside the house next to a chair engulfed in flames.

Emergency crews declared the woman dead at the scene of the incident.

According to the family of the elderly woman, the victim had lived in the house for 40 years.

Investigators continue to look into the cause of the blaze, which was contained to a single room within the home.

Rollover truck accident closes part of I-35

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A rollover crash involving a semi-truck caused part of Interstate 35 to be shut down Saturday morning.

News 9 reports that the accident happened on I-35, near Northeast 50th Street when a semi-truck turned over. While it is unknown at this time what caused the accident, witnesses report it was raining heavily in the area at the time.

There is no information available on the condition or identity of the driver.

Authorities cleared the crash from the highway around 7:30 a.m.

15-year-old boy drowns in lake in NE OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A fifteen-year-old boy drowned this morning in a lake in northeast Oklahoma City, according to KFOR.

The accident happened just before 11:45 a.m. in a park at Memorial and Westminster.

The body of the child was pulled from the lake by a team of divers.

Emergency responders attempted to resuscitate the boy for about an hour, but they were not able to save him.

4-year-old girl found in neighbor’s pool, taken to hospital

MOORE, OK – A 4-year-old girl was found in a neighbor’s swimming pool and then taken to the hospital for treatment of possible drowning-related injuries today, according to a report by KOCO.

The accident happened this afternoon in the 700 block of Southwest Fourth Place. The child was missing for about 15 minutes and was subsequently found in a neighbor’s pool.

Emergency officials performed CPR on the girl, and they were able to detect a pulse around 7 p.m. She was then taken to the Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.

This is the third incident in a string of child drownings over the weekend.

Two injured in Spencer drive by shooting

SPENCER, OK – Two individuals were shot in a drive-by shooting Tuesday night at an apartment complex in Spencer, OK, according to KOCO5.

The two victims were walking on Dunjee Boulevard near Northeast 36th Street when a car stopped and fired at them.

One of the victims was shot in the back. EMS transported him to the hospital.

The second victim was shot in the leg. He drove himself to the hospital.

Police are investigating the incident as a possible shoot out due to casings from different guns.

There are no suspects at this time.

Accidental shooting sends victim to hospital

NORMAN, OK – News 9 reports that one person was injured and required hospitalization after an accidental shooting incident Wednesday morning.

Police say that the event occurred at a private residence on Northeast 36th Street and Alameda Street.

The victim was handling the firearm when it discharged. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment, and their condition is currently unknown.

7 Injured in Oklahoma City School Bus Accident

Six students and another person were injured Wednesday morning in an Oklahoma City school bus accident.

According to officials with the Oklahoma City Police Department, the accident took place near the intersection of Southwest 44th Street and South Council Road. Authorities say the bus was traveling to Western Heights High School at the time of the accident. About 50 students were on-board the bust when the accident occurred.

The seven injured people were transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The identities of the victims have not been released. No information on the nature of their injuries was available.

The accident remains under investigation by the Oklahoma City Police Department.

1,065 Injuries Reported During Winter Storm

The final total of winter storm-related injuries reported at hospitals throughout Oklahoma last week is 1,065, the State Department of Health announced Sunday.

According to officials with the Oklahoma State Department of Health, four fatalities were reported, with three of the four fatalities from a car accident, one fatality resulted from a head injury. Of the 1,065 injuries, 750 were attributed to falls. At least 263 injuries were reported on Saturday, with 193 of those recorded as falls.

The total reported injuries for the week included 750 falls, 160 transportation-related injuries, 94 cuts/piercings, 22 poisonings, four reports of exposure, and 35 people were injured when they were stuck by an object. A complete list of winter weather precautions is available through the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
