OKC firefighters pull woman from four-alarm commercial fire downtown

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A woman was pulled from a serious commercial fire Wednesday evening, shortly before the building became completely engulfed in flames.

According to News 9, emergency crews were called to the scene at about 6:3o p.m. at a warehouse within the 800 block of Northwest 4th Street.

Firefighters worked to remove bars from a window to rescue a female victim who was trapped inside the building. She was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for unknown injuries.

It is still unclear what may have sparked the blaze.

Man found dead after shed in Oliver Park South area catches fire

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man was killed when a shed caught fire in the Oliver Park South area this morning, according to reports by KFOR and the Oklahoma City Fire Department.

The fire occurred at S Shields Boulevard and SE 44th Street at about 7:50 a.m., when a shed caught fire.

A man who lived in the shed was found dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately released.

While initially witnesses believed that a second victim may have been inside the structure, a search of the shed revealed no other people inside.

The shed was destroyed as a result of the blaze, which also caused significant damage to a nearby RV.

Bystanders at the scene reportedly tried to help hose the fire down.

Arson investigators are searching for the cause of the blaze at this time.

Fuel spill on I-40 causes traffic delays, closures in SE OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A fuel spill caused traffic delays on the interstate in southeast Oklahoma City today, according to News on 6.

The crash happened on eastbound I-40, near Choctaw Road, before 7:15 p.m.

Authorities closed one lane of the interstate and the ramp from I-40 to Choctaw as they worked the spill.

The blaze occurred at a one-story apartment building located near Ann Arbor Avenue and NW 42nd Street. The incident likely began as a cooking fire when a resident forgot to turn off the stove, according to the report.

The six to eight apartments contained within the small building were all damaged in the fire.

Man severely injured after being hit by falling tree limb in OKC

At least one person hurt during accident near Guthrie

GUTHRIE, OK (LOGAN COUNTY) – At least one person was injured during a collision in Logan County this afternoon, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred north of Guthrie, on northbound I-35, near mile marker 165, and resulted in the injury of at least one person, who has yet to be publicly identified.

The accident was reported by OHP at 1 p.m.

Okla. Trooper hurt in snowy New Year’s Day accident in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – An Oklahoma State Trooper was injured after a driver collided with his police cruiser in Tulsa on New Year’s Day, according to KTUL.

The accident occurred on the Will Rogers Turnpike at about 10 a.m., when a driver left their cruise control set on 75 mph while driving on the slick roadway. The driver lost control of the car, then collided with the vehicle of an Oklahoma State Trooper.

The Trooper was taken to the hospital and treated for non-critical injuries. He is expected to make a recovery.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

29-year-old man hit, killed while trying to walk across I-44

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A 29-year-old man was killed on Christmas in a pedestrian accident on I-44, according to KOKH.

The accident occurred on northbound I-44 at about 9:30 p.m., when 29-year-old Del City man Preston Morales had gotten out of his vehicle following a car accident.

Despite a driver’s attempts to swerve out of the way, she collided with Morales, who was attempting to walk across the roadway.

Morales died at the scene.

OKC officer injured after being struck by car of fleeing shoplifting suspects

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A female Oklahoma City Police Department officer was hospitalized after being struck by the car of fleeing shoplifting suspects at the Kohl’s on Northwest Expressway and Council Road on Tuesday, reports News on 6.

According to officials, two officers responded to the store after employees called to report two female shoplifters. The officers then chased after the suspects as they exited the store and got into their vehicle. When the female officer stepped in front of the suspect vehicle, the driver accelerated and attempted to run over the officer.

Fortunately, the officer was able to avoid being run over but was struck by the front quarter panel of the vehicle and knocked over. As the vehicle passed, the officer was then hit in the head by a side-view mirror, causing non-serious injuries to her face.

Police lost track of the suspect vehicle after it sped away towards Northwest Expressway.

Following the altercation, the female officer drove to Integris Baptist hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Investigators are currently working to locate the suspects, one of whom has been identified by authorities.
