One person, whose identity has yet to be released, was pulled from the single-story home by bystanders before fire officials arrived at the scene.

The victim was airlifted to the hospital in Oklahoma City for the treatment of burn injuries of undisclosed severity.

The cause of the fire was not immediately available, though fire officials stated that leaking gas was not an issue in the neighborhood.

The blaze remains under investigation.

At least one person hurt during accident near Guthrie

GUTHRIE, OK (LOGAN COUNTY) – At least one person was injured during a collision in Logan County this afternoon, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred north of Guthrie, on northbound I-35, near mile marker 165, and resulted in the injury of at least one person, who has yet to be publicly identified.

The accident was reported by OHP at 1 p.m.

OHP did not specify the cause of the crash or the number of injuries that occurred.

Okla. Trooper hurt in snowy New Year’s Day accident in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – An Oklahoma State Trooper was injured after a driver collided with his police cruiser in Tulsa on New Year’s Day, according to KTUL.

The accident occurred on the Will Rogers Turnpike at about 10 a.m., when a driver left their cruise control set on 75 mph while driving on the slick roadway. The driver lost control of the car, then collided with the vehicle of an Oklahoma State Trooper.

The Trooper was taken to the hospital and treated for non-critical injuries. He is expected to make a recovery.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

Authorities reminded drivers to slow down while traveling during wintry weather conditions.

29-year-old man hit, killed while trying to walk across I-44

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A 29-year-old man was killed on Christmas in a pedestrian accident on I-44, according to KOKH.

The accident occurred on northbound I-44 at about 9:30 p.m., when 29-year-old Del City man Preston Morales had gotten out of his vehicle following a car accident.

Despite a driver’s attempts to swerve out of the way, she collided with Morales, who was attempting to walk across the roadway.

Morales died at the scene.

No further injuries were reported in the accident.

OKC officer injured after being struck by car of fleeing shoplifting suspects

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A female Oklahoma City Police Department officer was hospitalized after being struck by the car of fleeing shoplifting suspects at the Kohl’s on Northwest Expressway and Council Road on Tuesday, reports News on 6.

According to officials, two officers responded to the store after employees called to report two female shoplifters. The officers then chased after the suspects as they exited the store and got into their vehicle. When the female officer stepped in front of the suspect vehicle, the driver accelerated and attempted to run over the officer.

Fortunately, the officer was able to avoid being run over but was struck by the front quarter panel of the vehicle and knocked over. As the vehicle passed, the officer was then hit in the head by a side-view mirror, causing non-serious injuries to her face.

Police lost track of the suspect vehicle after it sped away towards Northwest Expressway.

Following the altercation, the female officer drove to Integris Baptist hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Investigators are currently working to locate the suspects, one of whom has been identified by authorities.

Two people hurt after heater sparks garage fire in OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Two people were hurt after a garage caught fire in Oklahoma City this morning, according to KFOR.

The incident began at about 11:20 a.m. in the 1600 block of SE 51st Street when a space heater caused a garage to catch fire.

The blaze consumed the garage, then spread to the attic.

Two people suffered smoke inhalation injuries during the blaze and were treated at the scene.

The identities of the victims have not yet been made available.

Two motorists injured after being shot in northwest Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Police say a driver and passenger were hospitalized after being shot at the Reserve Apartments in northwest Oklahoma City Wednesday afternoon, reports KOCO.

According to authorities, the driver and passenger were shot shortly after pulling up to the Reserve Apartments. The victims then drove away and called police from an OnCue near Northwest 10th Street and North Portland Avenue.

Police said the female driver is stable in condition, while the male passenger is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Oklahoma Department of Transportation warns of black ice and slick spots on roadways

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Oklahoma Department of Transportation said that Sunday’s snowstorm has left roadways in central and eastern Oklahoma with slick spots and black ice, and that motorists should drive with extra caution, reports KFOR.

Officials say crews are currently working in central and eastern counties to treat the slick spots and black ice, which formed overnight following the snowstorm on many wet and elevated surfaces. Further refreezing is expected due to the low temperatures.

There’s remaining concern for slick areas in western Oklahoma, although roadway conditions generally improved overnight. In south-central Oklahoma, crews will be monitoring roadways for refreezing and needed treatment.

DoT officials urge motorists to drive slow, expect longer morning travel times, and watch for changing road conditions.
