60-year-old man hospitalized following 3-vehilce crash in Newcastle

NEWCASTLE, OK  – One man was taken to the hospital following a three-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck in Newcastle Tuesday morning.

According to the Chickasha Express-Star, the accident took place at about 11:30 a.m. as the driver of the semi attempted to merge onto I-44.

The semi was rear-ended by a pickup truck in the process of merging into the freeway. The semi swerved to the left, colliding with an SUV that was also traveling west on the interstate.

The driver of the pickup, 60-year-old Joseph Thompson, was extricated from the vehicle and taken to OU Medical Center with a serious leg injury.

Both the driver of the semi and two occupants in the SUV was also uninjured.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to a serious collision involving multiple semis and passenger vehicles along with the Turner Turnpike early Sunday evening.

According to OHP, the accident took place shortly before 4:20 p.m. along the turnpike near the exit to Post Road.

Slick roads likely lead to the collision that left at least one person injured. This is only one of several major accidents caused by weather conditions in the area this week.

Overturned semi blocks all lanes on I-40

CANADIAN CO., OK – Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol were forced to block multiple lanes on I-40 after a semi overturned in the roadway Monday morning.

According to OHP, the accident took place shortly before 10:30 in the eastbound lanes of I-40 at mile marker 108.

The circumstances leading up to the crash remain unclear at this time. However, all eastbound lanes remain closed while investigators work at the scene. Motorists have been advised to find an alternate route when traveling in the area.

Firefighters pull victim from vehicle after being crushed by tractor-trailer

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man was pulled from his vehicle after it was crushed by a tractor-trailer in Oklahoma City Friday morning.

According to News 9, the accident occurred sometime before 11 a.m. on private property within the 1500 block of East Reno Avenue near the intersection with Eastern Avenue.

Firefighters called in a special tow truck to remove the trailer before being able to safely extricate the driver from the vehicle. The cause of the incident is unclear at this time.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result.

Early morning highway collision reported in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Authorities with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to a trucking accident along Interstate 44 near downtown early Wednesday morning.

According to News 9, the crash happened along I-44 eastbound just before the Pennsylvania Avenue exit. Officials say a large semi-truck jack-knifed blocking all of the eastbound lanes.

The incident also caused a fuel spill forcing firefighters to clear the area while the fuel could be cleared from the road.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash. Although traffic was blocked for a number of hours during the cleanup and investigation causing major delays for rush-hour commuters.

Authorities seek truck driver responsible for Oklahoma City hit-and-run

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Authorities in Oklahoma city are trying to track down the driver that struck a truck sending it over a guard rail on Interstate 44 Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred at around 3:30 a.m. on I-44 near Kelley Avenue, according to News 9. The occupant in the overturned truck was not injured. However, the other driver sped away from the scene.

Police believe the incident is related to a case of road rage.

Two hospitalized after semi-truck falls off bridge, catches fire

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Officials in Oklahoma City responded to an accident where a semi-truck rolled off a bridge and caught fire on impact early Monday morning.

According to KOCO, the incident occurred just after 3:30 am along the eastbound I-40 ramp to I-44. There were two occupants inside the truck when it rolled over, both were transported to OU medical center.

Authorities were forced to shut down the ramp for several hours while Fire officials put out the blaze and cleared the wreckage from the roadway. The ramp has since reopened.

No word on the condition of the two people inside the truck or how the crash occurred has been released yet. We will provide those details as they are made available by Police.
