Officer’s family displaced after home fire in Sapulpa

SAPULPA, OK – Authorities Sapulpa Police Captain Stephen Zamudio and his family were left without their home and most of their possessions after a fire destroyed their home on Sunday, January 3rd.

Zamudio said he noticed smoke in the house and recognized the sound of fire before reporting the accident to this dispatch.

Fire crews with the Sapulpa Fire Department responded to the home but were unable to contain the fire.

The family did not have time to save many possessions and the home is thought to be a total loss.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown. An investigation is underway by the state fire marshal.

Injuries reported from car fire that set vacant home ablaze

TULSA, OK – A car fire in Tulsa set a home and surrounding structures ablaze on Thursday night.

According to News on 6, the car that started the conflagration belonged to a couple who did not live in the house. The residence was vacant at the time of the fire, and the couple had parked in its garage to work on their car.

KTUL interviewed a neighbor who lived near the home, located at 46th Street and Iroquois Avenue. He told them the siding on his home was damaged and his wife’s hand was injured.

The owners of the car were both injured due to the fire.
