Truck driver injured after load crushes him on Turner Turnpike

OKLAHOMA CO., OK –  A truck driver died after the load he was carrying fell on top of him along Turner Turnpike Saturday afternoon.

According to News 9, the incident occurred along the Turnpike about one mile east of Luther.

Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol say 37-year-old Mario Harrison stopped to check on his cargo. While he was assessing the unknown issue, the cargo shifted and fell on top of him.

Harrison was pinned under the load for an unknown amount of time. He died after sustaining injuries to his head, neck, and trunk.

Claremore man killed, truck driver hospitalized following Vinita crash

TULSA, OK – Trooper with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol has identified the man killed in a Sunday night collision involving a tractor-trailer in Vinita.

According to KTUL, the accident was reported at about 11:45 p.m. along OK-2 near County Road 200.

The cause of the crash is unclear at this time. However, both a Chevrolet Silverado and a Freightliner Cascadia were involved.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 35-year-old Patrick Heussmann was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver in the Freightliner was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Newkirk woman killed in 6-vehicle pileup on I-35

NEWKIRK, OK – A 51-year-old woman was killed following a pileup on I-35 likely caused by black ice early Monday morning.

According to KFOR, the accident took place shortly 2 a.m. along the Cimarron River Bridge near Exit 166.

Police say Kelly Hillhouse, 51, was involved in a 6-vehicle collision involving three cars and three semi-trucks. Firefighters worked for several hours to free Hillhouse from her vehicle. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other drivers were transported to University Hospital to be treated for unknown injuries sustained in the crash.

Fatal highway crash near Port of Catoosa

PORT OF CATOOSA, OK – Officials in Port of Catoosa were forced to shut down a major highway in the Port of Catoosa following a fatal crash Friday morning.

According to News on 6, Rogers County Emergency Management responded to the crash involving a large semi-truck that overturned close to the intersection of 530 Road and 4100 Road.

No word on what caused the crash or how many fatalities resulted has been made available as of Friday night. However, this portion of 530 Road was shut down for several hours while the spillage from the truck was cleared.

One dead, others injured in multi-vehicle collision

PITTSBURG COUNTY, OK – Investigators with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol are looking into the cause of a crash that killed one and injured four Sunday.

According to News on 6, the crash occurred around 1:00 p.m. when two pickup trucks, a Chevrolet and a Dodge, crashed into each other along US Highway 270 near McAlester.

Loyd Sales, 70, was pronounced dead inside his Chevrolet when officials arrived at the scene. A passenger was transported to St. Francis Hospital and is in stable condition.

The occupants of the Dodge truck were all taken to McAlester Regional Health Center with minor injuries and have since been released.

No information regarding the cause of the crash has been released as of yet.
