Multiple duplex residents displaced after grass fire spreads to units

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A grass fire that spread to two duplexes last Wednesday has left multiple Oklahoma City residents without a home, according to KFOR.

One of the residents, Christin Williams, said she was at work when her boyfriend called and told her the house had caught fire. Her 3-year-old son and boyfriend were inside when they saw the smoke and fortunately were able to escape safely.

By the time Williams got home, the area was blocked off and she watched as the duplex burned.

Williams, her son, and her boyfriend also lived in the unit with her uncle but he was not home when the fire started. At the moment, she is staying with her mother while searching for their next home.

Williams said the damaged unit has been looted by several people after the fire.
