One person dead after driver runs stop sign on Hwy 270 in Wewoka

WEWOKA, OK (SEMINOLE COUNTY) – A 25-year-old man was killed after another driver ran a stop sign in Seminole County on Friday night, according to OKC FOX.

The crash happened on Highway 270 in Wewoka, when a driver ran a stop sign, then collided with 25-year-old Kordel Ross-Mcguire.

Ross-Mcguire, a resident of Seminole, died at the scene.

The other driver was not reported as injured.

SAPULPA, OK (CREEK COUNTY) – At least one person was injured during a collision on the Turner Turnpike in Sapulpa this afternoon, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at about 12:15 p.m. on the Turner Turnpike westbound (I-44), near mile marker 220.

At least one person was reported as injured as a result of the collision.

The roadway was blocked while authorities worked the accident.

One driver killed, another hospitalized following collision on U.S. Hwy 75 near Owasso

TULSA, OK – A Sperry man was killed and another driver was hospitalized following a collision on U.S. Highway 75 near Owasso, reports News Channel 8.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol say troopers arrived at the scene at the intersection of U.S. Hwy 75 and 96th Street North at about 9:15 a.m. The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of U.S. Hwy 75.

Authorities identified the victim as 59-year-old Carl McCarty of Sperry, the driver of a Toyota Corolla involved in the accident.

McCarty sustained critical injuries and was transported a nearby hospital in Owasso, where he later passed away.

The other driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital in Tulsa.

Driver arrested after losing control and slamming truck into electrical pole

TULSA, OK – A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after losing control and slamming his truck into an electrical pole near East Admiral Place and 89th East Avenue on Sunday night, reports KTUL.

According to Tulsa police, the crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Sunday when the truck came across ice in the roadway while speeding, causing the driver to lose control. The truck then hit the curb before striking the electrical pole.

Authorities said the driver did not suffer injuries but seemed intoxicated and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Dozens of residents nearby lost power overnight following the collision.

Fatal accident on I-44 under investigation by Oklahoma Highway Patrol

TULSA, OK – According to News on 6, Oklahoma Highway Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances of a fatal single-car accident on I-44  near East Admiral Place Thursday night.

OHP said the accident occurred around 11 p.m. on Thursday, when the driver of a westbound vehicle on I-44 lost control and crashed into the barrier off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then spun into oncoming lanes of traffic but fortunately no other cars were struck.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, authorities have not released the victim’s identity and it is unclear what led the driver to lose control of the vehicle. We will update this blog if more details are made public.

SPAVINAW, OK (MAYES COUNTY) – A driver was killed and his passenger was injured in a collision in Mayes County late last night, according to News on 6.

The collision occurred in Spavinaw, located northeast of Tulsa, on State Highway 20, just before midnight.

A driver, Domingko Nennis, was reportedly speeding when he failed to round a curve in the roadway. He then crashed into a tree.

Nennis died at the scene.

A passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital for the treatment of non-critical head wounds.

Authorities reportedly smelled alcohol on Nennis during their investigation.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigate fatal accident on Highway 412 in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – Officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol say a black car traveling eastbound on Highway 412 in Tulsa was involved in a fatal single-vehicle accident, reports KJRH.

According to authorities, the black car traveling east on Highway 412 exited the roadway and crashed into a nearby ditch. One motorist was ejected from the vehicle, though it is not yet clear whether it is the same motorist who was killed in the accident.

OHP troopers are investigating the crash and what led the black car to exit the roadway.

The on-ramp to Highway 412 at South 65th West Avenue was temporarily closed to traffic while officials responded to the scene.

Driver killed after crashing into tree during Sunday snow storm in Cherokee County

CHEROKEE CO., OK – A driver was killed during Sunday’s snow storm after crashing their vehicle into a tree near the Welling Road and County Road 543 intersection, reports News on 6.

Authorities identified the victim as 58-year-old Donald Wynn. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the vehicle exited the right side of the roadway and struck a tree near the Welling Road and County Road 543 intersection. The crash occurred around 12 p.m. Sunday during a snow storm.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol further stated that an excessive speed for the road conditions caused the vehicle to exit the road and crash.

Wynn arrived at a nearby Tahlequah hospital in critical condition. He was then transported to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where he was declared deceased on arrival.

OKC man dead after being pinned for 2 hours in Okmulgee County crash

HENRYETTA, OK (OKMULGEE COUNTY) – A man from Oklahoma City died after being pinned inside his vehicle for over two hours following a crash in Okmulgee County this morning, according to KTUL.

The accident happened on westbound I-40 near Henryetta when 37-year-old Oklahoma City man Leslye Moyd lost control of his vehicle.

The vehicle went off the left side of the roadway, and Moyd overcorrected the vehicle, which caused it to roll over multiple times before colliding with a tree.

The car came to a stop on the left side of the vehicle, pinning Moyd within the wreckage for about two hours.

Despite fire officials using the jaws of life to extricate him, Moyd died at the scene. His cause of death is listed as severe internal injuries.

No other injuries were reported in the collision, which continues to be investigated at this time.

Man injured after Camaro collides with tree in Sand Springs

SAND SPRINGS, OK (TULSA COUNTY) – A 34-year-old man was injured and pinned beneath the wreckage of a car following a single-vehicle crash west of Tulsa.

According to the Tulsa World, the accident happened yesterday in Sand Springs on Hwy 51, near Avery Drive, when Sand Springs man Robert Nance, operating a 1996 Chevrolet Camaro, lost control of his vehicle.

The Camaro went off the side of the roadway before colliding with a tree and pinning Nance inside for about 15 minutes.

Nance was taken to the hospital in Tulsa for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, including those to the leg and torso.

No other people were reported as injured in the accident.
