According to Total Traffic Tulsa, the accident was reported at about 1:15 p.m. near the Broken Arrow Expressway interchange.

Tulsa firefighters respond to multi-vehicle crash, fire on 71st Street

TULSA, OK – Police and fire officials were called to the scene of a major multi-vehicle collision in the Woodcrest neighborhood early Friday morning.

According to KTUL, the accident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. where 71st Street intersects with Lewis Avenue.

Police say the driver of an unspecified vehicle ran through a red light and was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

Two occupants in the at-fault vehicle were transported to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

BROKEN ARROW, OK –  Police in Broken Arrow were forced to shut down all lanes on Oklahoma 51 following a fatal wrong-way collision involving a semi-truck Monday.

According to Tulsa World, the accident took place within the 100 block of OK-51 near the intersection with Elm Place.

Investigators say the driver in an unspecified passenger vehicle was traveling east in the westbound lanes of the roadway when it collided head-on with the semi.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. However, their identity is being withheld pending further investigation into the crash.

Driver arrested after losing control and slamming truck into electrical pole

TULSA, OK – A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after losing control and slamming his truck into an electrical pole near East Admiral Place and 89th East Avenue on Sunday night, reports KTUL.

According to Tulsa police, the crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Sunday when the truck came across ice in the roadway while speeding, causing the driver to lose control. The truck then hit the curb before striking the electrical pole.

Authorities said the driver did not suffer injuries but seemed intoxicated and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Dozens of residents nearby lost power overnight following the collision.

Fatal accident on I-44 under investigation by Oklahoma Highway Patrol

TULSA, OK – According to News on 6, Oklahoma Highway Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances of a fatal single-car accident on I-44  near East Admiral Place Thursday night.

OHP said the accident occurred around 11 p.m. on Thursday, when the driver of a westbound vehicle on I-44 lost control and crashed into the barrier off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then spun into oncoming lanes of traffic but fortunately no other cars were struck.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, authorities have not released the victim’s identity and it is unclear what led the driver to lose control of the vehicle. We will update this blog if more details are made public.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigate fatal accident on Highway 412 in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – Officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol say a black car traveling eastbound on Highway 412 in Tulsa was involved in a fatal single-vehicle accident, reports KJRH.

According to authorities, the black car traveling east on Highway 412 exited the roadway and crashed into a nearby ditch. One motorist was ejected from the vehicle, though it is not yet clear whether it is the same motorist who was killed in the accident.

OHP troopers are investigating the crash and what led the black car to exit the roadway.

The on-ramp to Highway 412 at South 65th West Avenue was temporarily closed to traffic while officials responded to the scene.

Police: Tulsa hit-and-run may be related to fatal crash

BROKEN ARROW, OK – Police believe that a hit-and-run accident that resulted in minor injuries may be related to a fatal single-vehicle accident that took place in southeast Tulsa this weekend.

Two Bixby High School students received minor injuries Saturday night when their vehicle was hit by a red sports car that had run a red light at 101st Street and Mingo Road. Rather than stopping, the vehicle pulled a U-turn and headed west on 101st.

A few minutes later, a Chevrolet Camaro hit a tree on 101st between Sheridan and Yale Avenues. The vehicle caught fire and exploded, killing its driver, who has since been identified as 29-year-old Johnathan Garcia. Police believe Garcia may have been the driver who hit the two high school students.

Driver dies after crash, vehicle fire in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – Firefighters responded to a single-vehicle accident overnight Sunday that resulted in a fire that killed its driver, according to News On 6.

The crash happened close to the intersection of East 101st Street and South Yale Avenue shortly after midnight. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find a man trapped inside a Chevrolet Camaro that had crashed into a tree and caught fire. Unfortunately, they were not able to extricate the man in time, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A bystander said at the scene told authorities that they had tried to pull the man from the vehicle but that the flames had proven to be too hot.

Tulsa Police had not released the man’s identity as of Sunday evening. An investigation is ongoing.
