Texting and driving causes car rollover in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – A driver in Tulsa flipped his car between 41st Street and 145th East Avenue early Monday night.

According to KTUL, police found his vehicle upside down in a ditch. The driver was texting while driving and lost control of his car.

The driver only suffered minor injures in the accident.

Dropped wallet offers clues in Tulsa hit-and-run case

TULSA, OK – Police are looking for the driver who hit another vehicle at East Archer Street and MLK Boulevard on Monday and then fled the scene on foot.

News on 6 reports that the suspect was driving a Dodge Ram and crashed into a Jeep Cherokee after running a red light.

Police said that although the Dodge driver ran away, he left his wallet inside the vehicle. Police have not released the driver’s name.

Neither the driver of the Jeep nor its passenger were injured.

Pedestrian killed in accident on Highway 75

TULSA, OK – A pedestrian was killed early Monday morning while he attempted to cross Highway 75. A semi truck hit the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision occurred between 81st Street and 91st Street, sometime before 2 a.m.

News on 6 reported that police are still attempting to identify the pedestrian. Tulsa World confirmed the driver of the semi was not injured due to the accident.

Tulsa driver injured after being hit by fleeing shoplifters

TULSA, OK – A Tulsa driver was injured after an accident on Monday caused by a pair of would-be shoplifters.

According to News on 6, the incident began as a group of three people tried to walk out of a QuikTrip convenience store with beer they hadn’t purchased. A police officer in the store noticed the attempted crime and grabbed one of the shoplifters.

The other two thieves attempted to flee the scene in a dark-colored sedan, but collided with a minivan that was turning in front of them. The minivan’s driver was injured in the crash, as were both suspects.

Tulsa woman injured after car accident near 193rd E Ave

TULSA, OK – A Tulsa woman was injured after a car accident on Nov. 1.

Nicole Steed was driving late Saturday night when a truck hit her and caused her to lose control of her SUV. The collision sent her into several fences, powerlines, and bushes.

The accident happened at East Admiral Place and 193rd East Avenue. Bystanders alerted the police before helping Steed from the SUV. Steed has to undergo surgery for her broken wrist.

Steed said of the accident to News 9, “It’s so scary […] not knowing how I was going to get out of there.”

According to News 9, The driver who hit Steed was ticketed for having a suspended license, driving without insurance, and having expired tags but was not arrested.

Two dead after accident on US 412

DELAWARE COUNTY, OK – A three-vehicle crash near Leach, Oklahoma killed two children at around 8 a.m. Nov. 4.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed that a 6-year-old and 3-year-old died after the accident, according to KTUL. An 8-year-old passenger and the driver of one of the vehicles were both transported to a hospital in Tulsa for unspecified injuries.
