Man dead after altercation in Oklahoma County Jail

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man died Thursday at 2:40 p.m. after Oklahoma County Jail personnel used force to restrain him him, according to KFOR.

Oklahoma City officers arrested 56-year-old Olain Jefferson, Jr. after he assaulted medical personnel at the Southwest Medical Center.

Olain was taken to Oklahoma County Jail, where he was involved in an altercation with officers.

Jefferson is reported to have suffered some type of medical event during the scuffle. Authorities say that only “minor force” was administered, but Jefferson was rushed to a nearby hospital as the result of the injuries he sustained, where he was pronounced dead.

The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s office will determine the cause of Jefferson’s death.

Amusement park accident kills woman

An accident in a well-known amusement park resulted in a woman’s death after she fell from one of the rides in Arlington, Texas on the evening of Friday, July 19.

The fatal accident, in which Rosy Esparza fell from the Texas Giant roller coaster in the Six Flags amusement park, occurred at around 6:30 p.m.

Experts were deployed by the German company who built the Texas Giant cars to help figure out the cause of the accident. The amusement park also stated that it plans to utilize all resources to determine what caused the accident after no signs of foul play were discovered.

A spokesperson for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions said rides are generally safe with very minimal accidents and deaths occurring.
