Teen motorcyclist dies after collision with van in Edmond

OKLAHOMA COUNTY, OK — A 17-year-old Edmond North High School student has died after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle Thursday morning in Edmond, reports News9.

The fatal accident occurred near the corner of West Covell Road and North Kelly Avenue.

An early investigation indicates a minivan was traveling near the intersection when its driver tried to turn into the Lowe’s Home Improvement store. Moments later, the teen’s motorcycle struck the van.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries the next day.

At this time, officials have not said who had the right-of-way. No pending charges or citations have been reported as of this writing.
