Texas man drowns in McCurtain County river in SE Oklahoma

EAGLETOWN, OK (MCCURTAIN COUNTY) – A man from Texas died following an inner tube accident in a river in southeastern Oklahoma yesterday, according to a report by The Oklahoman.

The accident happened around 5 p.m. in the Mountain Fork River, near Eagletown, which is located about 10 miles east of Broken Bow and 190 miles southeast of Oklahoma City.

The victim, 58-year-old Pedro Segura, of Irving, Texas, was riding on an inner tube attached to a second inner tube when the accident occurred. Segura got off his tube when the second one detached from the first.

He intended to pull the second inner tube to the bank of the river, but then went under in 10 feet of water and drowned.

Segura was reportedly not wearing a flotation device when the incident happened.
