An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was involved in a serious car accident on Interstate 40 Wednesday.
According to officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a trooper was in training when he lost control of his squad car at Interstate 40 and Choctaw Road. Police say the trooper failed to negotiate a curve and struck another police training car.
The trooper was transported to an area hospital following the crash. He is listed in stable condition.
The troopers in the other training car were not injured in the crash, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Eastbound lanes of the highway were shut down following the accident, as response crew worked to clean up the wreckage.
