Tulsa house fire leaves one person hospitalized

TULSA, OK – Officials say a house fire near Interstate 244 left one resident in the hospital after being rescued by Tulsa firefighters, reports Tulsa World.

According to authorities, the fire was reported around 4:35 p.m. Sunday at the 5900 block of East Easton Street.

Andy Little, a Tulsa Fire Department spokesman, said firefighters were met with ‘heavy fire’ on arrival and discovered a person was in the northwest corner bedroom of the residence. The person was rescued from the home and then received treatment from paramedics and firefighters for injuries sustained in the fire.

The injured resident was then taken by EMSA to a nearby hospital. At this time, no further details on their condition have been released.
