Two dead, teen and two others killed in Carter County wrong-way crash

SPRINGER, OK (CARTER COUNTY) – Two people were killed, and three other people were injured in a wrong-way crash in Carter County on Thursday evening.

According to KFOR, the accident occurred on Highway 53 E at about 6:20 p.m. when the driver of a 2015 Jetta, Coleman McGuffin, crossed over the center line and into the lane of oncoming traffic.

McGuffin collided with the driver of a 2010 Ford Ranger pickup truck, Carissa Womble, 42.

Womble and McGuffin both died at the scene.

A 16-year-old and two other passengers in the Ranger were taken to the hospital with severe wounds.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
