ENID, OK – Two motorists were injured in a multi-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck on West Owen Garriott Road in Enid on Friday afternoon, reports Enid News & Eagle.

The collision occurred at 1500 W. Garriot Rd near McAlister’s Deli around 12:25 p.m.

According to Enid police, 23-year-old Sabrina Briggs was attempting to turn from the private drive at McAlister’s Deli and Wendy’s into the westbound lanes of Garriot in a 2014 Hyundai Elantra but failed to yield to an eastbound 2006 Chevrolet HHR.

The driver of the Chevrolet HHR, 44-year-old Melissa Hill, tried swerving to avoid a collision but did not have enough time. After colliding with Briggs’ vehicle, the HHR was sent crashing into a westbound 2000 Freightliner FLD semi-truck.

Both Hill and Briggs suffered head injuries that were not debilitating. EMS crews took both drivers to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center for treatment where they were stable in condition.

The semi-truck driver,  55-year-old Rickey Marten, was not injured in the crash.

According to the preliminary crash report, the three drivers were secured by seat belts and only Hill’s airbags were deployed. All three vehicles were disabled by the crash and required towing from the roadway.
