UPDATE: Teen identified as cyclist killed in OK-9 crash near SE Norman

OKLAHOMA COUNTY, OK — A high school student died last Friday after being struck by a car while riding a bicycle on Oklahoma Highway 9 in southeast Norman, reports KOCO.

Officials said the fatal accident occurred on a span of the highway near Morning Glory Drive on July 15.

A message issued by the Overland Summers organization indicates the teen, who was traveling with the group as part of a cross-country ride, had fallen off their bike. Moments later, the victim was hit by a car heading the same way.

At this time, Norman Police have not released any further details, but an investigation remains open and active.

No arrests are expected to be made, and no pending charges have been reported.
