Woman dies after colliding with Dodge south of Holdenville

HUGHES COUNTY, OK – A motorist has died as the result of a crash that happened a mile and a half south of Holdenville on Wednesday morning, reports KFOR.
Sybil Griffin was the driver of the 2009 Nissan. She was heading south on Oklahoma Highway 48 around 6:45 a.m. when she hydroplaned, strayed into the center line, and struck a Dodge Ram pickup that was traveling north.
Griffin, 44, suffered multiple injuries and was taken to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City following the accident. She died in the hospital. The driver of the Dodge Ram was not injured.
Unsafe speed was the cause of the incident, according to authorities.
