2 dead in head-on crash in head-on collision in Ponca City

PONCA CITY, OK – Two men died in a head-on collision on State Highway 11 near Union Street Sunday morning, Oklahoma News 4 reports.

73-year-old Jerry Johns was driving west on SH-11 when he crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a vehicle driven by John Holden, 74. The two men were trapped in the wreckage for more than three hours before they were discovered. Emergency responders pronounced them dead at the scene.

An adult man and a child were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries not deemed to be life-threatening.

Ponca City Fire, Newkirk Fire and Kildare Fire all responded to the call.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a collision with injuries on southbound I-235 and NE 13th Street, per its official Twitter feed.

Update: OHP seeks details on driver behind fatal I-40 crash

EL RENO, OK – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is requesting information from the public regarding the fatal accident that killed four people on I-40 Saturday.

Authorities believe that 33-year-old Ashley Louise Ricks was intoxicated when she crashed her 2017 Jeep Renegade head-on into a 2003 Hyundai, killing its four occupants. The collision occurred in the westbound lanes of I-40 near Country Club Road.

According to News 9, police had been unable to question Ricks as of that evening, because she was still in intensive care at the time. They’re asking anyone who may have seen Ricks earlier that evening to come forward with information about her behavior in the hours leading up to the crash.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person was injured in a collision in southeast Oklahoma City yesterday afternoon, according to a tweet by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The accident happened on southbound I-35, near SE 15th St and was reported by OHP at 2:38 p.m.

OHP reported that at least one person was injured in the crash, though they did not specify the identity of the victim or victims or the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Authorities closed the center lanes of the interstate for the cleanup and investigation of the accident, which was cleared from the roadway a little less than six hours later, at 8:21 p.m.

Two in critical condition after early-morning Tulsa County crash

SPERRY, OK (TULSA COUNTY) – Two people sustained life-threatening injuries in a car accident near Sperry early yesterday morning, according to a report by News on 6.

The accident happened about 3.5 miles east of Sperry, located about ten miles north of Tulsa, on I-75 and N 106th early Saturday when two vehicles collided.

Both drivers sustained critical wounds in the accident and were taken to the hospital for treatment. Their identities have not yet been released to the public.

No other injuries were reported in the collision.

Authorities closed both southbound lanes of I-75 for multiple hours for the investigation of the accident. The crash was cleared from the roadways around 8 a.m.

Teenage girl, 3 adults dead in I-40 wrong-way collision in El Reno

EL RENO, OK (CANADIAN COUNTY) – A woman may have been intoxicated when she crashed her vehicle in a wrong-way crash near El Reno that may have resulted in the death of a teenage girl and three other people early this morning, investigators say.

According to KFOR, the accident happened on I-40 near El Reno at about 1:37 a.m. when Moore woman Ashley Louise Ricks, 33, crashed her 2017 Jeep Renegade into a 2003 Hyundai in a head-on collision. The Jeep landed upside-down into a nearby ditch, and the Hyundai collided with a median before catching on fire.

Authorities are attempting to determine if Ricks was intoxicated at the time, as she had been driving the wrong way on the highway for over 10 miles.

Three adults died at the scene. A teenage girl was taken to the hospital in El Reno, and there she was pronounced dead. All four victims were occupants of the Hyundai.

Ricks was brought to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, where she is receiving treatment for critical injuries, including those to the leg, arm, and internal organs.

Authorities are searching for anyone who may have information on the crash or on Ricks’ whereabouts last night.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.

Truck driver, 31, ejected and killed in accident in Grady County

BRIDGE CREEK, OK (GRADY COUNTY) – A truck driver was killed in a single-vehicle accident early yesterday morning near Bridge Creek, which is located about 20 miles southwest of Oklahoma City and about 14 miles west of Norman.

According to The Express-Star, the crash happened near mile marker 101 of the H.E. Bailey Turnpike, also known as Highway 4, at about 2 a.m. when 31-year-old driver Chevalier Mills, of Moore, went off the side of the roadway.

The semi-truck driver collided with multiple trees and a fence and was then ejected out of the truck, through the windshield.

Mills died at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in the crash, which remains under investigation at this time.

Alleged shooting follows car accident in OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – An accident in northwest Oklahoma City led to an alleged shooting, according to KFOR.

The crash two-vehicle crash happened in the 4600 block of Northwest 39th Expressway on Wednesday afternoon.

Officials say that after the accident, one of the motorists shot the other in the leg and hand.

The victim then fled to a nearby friend’s house to call for help.

Police are still looking for the suspect, and are investigating what led up to the shooting.

Fatal accident under investigation in Norman

NORMAN, OK- Police have arrested a man in conjunction with a wrong-way collision that killed another motorist last Wednesday, according to the Norman Transcript.

The crash took place on 12th Avenue NE just south of its intersection with Indian Hills Road on the evening of October 7th.

According to police, Cameron Gordon, 31, was driving south when he crossed the center lane into the northbound lanes and struck a Ford Ranger head-on. An unidentified occupant of the Ranger was killed in the collision

Gordon is in custody and has been charged with manslaughter in the first degree. Authorities he was impaired at the time of the crash.

Officers are continuing to investigate the incident.
