Pedestrian critically injured in northwest Oklahoma City crash

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in northwest Oklahoma City Sunday night.

According to News 9, the man was hit after he wandered into the road along Lake Heffner Parkway at the I-44 overpass.

The unidentified man was unconscious upon authorities’ arrival at the scene.  He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical condition.

It is unclear if any charges will be filed in connection to the incident.

Pedestrian killed in northwest OKC crash

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – One person was struck and killed in a northwest Oklahoma City pedestrian accident late Wednesday night.

According to KOCO, the accident took place sometime before 10:20 p.m. along Northwest 17th Street near the intersection with North Pennsylvania Avenue.

The cause of the crash remains unclear. However, the driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The identities of those involved are being withheld at this time.

TULSA, OK – An elderly woman sustained life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a vehicle while she was crossing the street in Tulsa last night, according to FOX 23 News.

The accident occurred in the 8800 block of E 31st Street, in a dimly lit stretch of roadway, when a 78-year-old pedestrian attempted to run across the road.

She was struck by a driver who reportedly did not have time to avoid striking the pedestrian.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Investigators with the Oklahoma City Police Department are searching for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run crash that sent one woman to the hospital Monday evening.

According to News 9, the incident took place around 6 p.m. within the 600 block of Southwest 43rd Street near the intersection with South Lee Avenue.

Police say a female pedestrian was struck by an unspecified vehicle which immediately fled the scene.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

Two people killed in pedestrian crash in southeast OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man and a woman were killed after being struck by a vehicle in southeast Oklahoma City this evening, according to News 9.

The crash happened on SE 44th Street, near S Phillips Avenue, and was reported by News 9 just before 9 p.m.

The two victims, whose identities have yet to be released, died of injuries sustained during the crash.

The driver remained at the scene after the accident occurred.

Deaf pedestrian injured in collision while crossing street in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – A deaf man was injured in a pedestrian accident while crossing a street in midtown Tulsa early Friday morning, reports KTUL.

According to Tulsa police, the collision occurred overnight near the near the intersection of East 41st Street and Memorial Drive. The driver remained at the scene of the crash and called police.

When officers arrived, they learned the victim was deaf and had begun to cross the road when he was struck.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of a potential concussion but is expected to recover.

30-year-old pedestrian fatally run over by vehicle in Shawnee

SHAWNEE, OK (POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY) – A pedestrian is dead after she was run over by a vehicle in the northeast Shawnee area last night, according to KTUL.

The collision occurred on Brangus Road at about 11 p.m., when 39-year-old Skye Jim was run over by a vehicle.

She died at the scene.

Initial reports say that the victim was lying in the roadway when the accident happened, though the incident remains under investigation.

The driver was not reported as injured.

Two pedestrians injured in construction zone accident in Crowder

PITTSBURG CO., OK – Oklahoma Highway Patrol say a 25-year-old Tulsa man and a 19-year-old McAlester man were injured after being struck by a vehicle in a Crowder construction zone on Tuesday.

According to Tulsa World, troopers say the collision occurred near Blocker Road and Hickory Hill Road around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. An 84-year-old driver from McAlester failed to yield to a traffic control personnel’s signs to stop at a one-lane construction zone, hitting the two men and a parked car.

The Tulsa man suffered serious internal and leg injuries and was taken by helicopter transport to a Tulsa hospital. The McAlester man was transported to a McAlester hospital for treatment of arm injuries.

The preliminary report stated the elderly driver was not injured. Troopers said inattentive driving was the cause of the collision.

Authorities ID victim of fatal Tulsa pedestrian accident

TULSA, OK – Authorities have released the identity of the man who was struck and killed in eastern Tulsa on Monday, Tulsa World reports.

This is an update to a previous post.

91-year-old Estes Riddle was attempting to cross Hudson Avenue and Admiral Place when he was struck by a motor vehicle. The vehicle stopped, at which point a second vehicle attempted to pass it and struck Riddle a second time. Both drivers called 911 and cooperated with police.

Emergency responders pronounced Riddle dead at the scene.

Neither driver has been charged, as Riddle was attempting to cross outside of a designated crosswalk.
