Two men from Seminole in crit. condition after Midway semi-truck accident

MIDWAY, OK – Two people from Seminole were seriously hurt after they were ejected from a semi-truck during a single-vehicle collision yesterday in Lincoln County, according to KFOR.

The accident happened on SH-102, about six miles north of Midway at about 4 p.m. when the back wheels of a 2006 Volvo semi-truck, driven by 44-year-old Shawn Allen Gray, went off the road.

Gray overcorrected the truck, causing the truck to go off the opposite side of the road. He attempted to correct the truck’s path once more, and the vehicle rolled over four times before landing upside-down.

Gray was ejected five feet from the truck and a passenger, 29-year-old Jose De Jesus Santillan Lopez, was ejected about 50 feet.

Both men were taken to the University of Oklahoma Hospital for the treatment of severe injuries, including wounds to the head and internal organs.

No other vehicles were reported as being involved in the crash.

Texas man and Hollis man dead in Beckham County car accident

ERICK, OK (BECKHAM COUNTY) – Two men are dead as a result of a single-vehicle crash in Beckham County Thursday, according to News 9.

The accident happened west of Erick at the intersection of OK-30 and I-40 Business Loop on Thursday morning when Jimmy Brandon, 58, of Shamrock, Texas, failed to obey a stop sign.

Brandon then collided with a sign, and then the vehicle struck a tree head-on.

A passenger, Hollis man Ricky Thompkins, 56, and Brandon were declared dead at the scene. They both sustained severe head injuries in the crash.

According to the report, neither of the men was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Woman dies in I-44 motorcycle crash in NW OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A woman is dead after a motorcycle accident Friday night on Interstate 44 in northwest Oklahoma City, according to an article by KFOR.

The accident happened on the interstate at about 7:15 p.m. near Martin Luther King Boulevard when the victim, 32-year-old Britanie L. Hobgood, of Seminole, veered to the left of the roadway. Her motorcycle, a 2020 Suzuki, then struck a cable barrier, leaving Hobgood with multiple injuries, including those to the leg, torso, and head.

She was taken to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, where she later died.

The cause of the accident is not clear at this time.

26-year-old OKC man dead in I-240 collision

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – An Oklahoma City man is dead following an accident on Interstate 240 yesterday that was possibly related to alcohol, according to an article by KFOR.

The incident occurred yesterday afternoon near Eastern Avenue and I-240, when 26-year-old Nicholas Chamberlain, of Oklahoma City, swerved to avoid a traffic delay. He then collided with the back of another vehicle, driven by 47-year-old Gabriel Parra.

Chamberlain died at the scene of injuries to the head and the leg, according to authorities.

Evidence of alcohol was found inside his vehicle.

Parra was not injured in the accident.

Arkansas man dead in I-40 pedestrian accident in Sequoyah Co.

MOFFETT, OK (SEQUOYAH COUNTY)– An Arkansas man was killed in a pedestrian accident last night near Moffett, according to KFOR.

The accident happened on Interstate 40 about four miles from Moffett at about 7 p.m.

The victim, John Rabe, 55, of Greenwood, Arkansas, was hit by a vehicle and then sent to the hospital for multiple injuries including those to the head, internal organs, arm, head, leg, and chest.

He was pronounced dead at 8 p.m., about an hour after the collision.

There are no details at this time regarding the circumstances of the crash or the description of the vehicle.

The accident remains under investigation.

CHICKASHA, OK (GRADY COUNTY) – One man died and another was critically injured Friday night in a speeding-related crash in Grady County, according to KFOR.

The accident happened at 8:49 p.m. at the ramp for Exit 83 on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike (Interstate 44). A Dodge Ram 1500 containing victims 43-year-old Reford E. Alcorn and 25-year-old Billy M. Johnson, both of Chickasha, was traveling over the speed limit when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The Dodge then rolled over multiple times and ejected both passengers from the pickup truck.

Alcorn died at the scene, and Johnson was transported to an Oklahoma City hospital for the treatment of critical injuries, including those to the head, torso, arm, leg, and internal organs. Neither of the men was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

It is unclear at this point which of the two men was the driver of the pickup truck.

One dead, one injured in Murray County ATV crash

DAVIS, OK (MURRAY COUNTY) – A man died and a woman was seriously injured Friday afternoon following an ATV crash in Murray County, according to KFOR.

The accident happened just before 3 p.m. near Substation Road and U.S. Highway 77.

The driver of the Polaris Razor ATV, 28-year-old Davis man Joe D. White, was riding with passenger Kathryn White, 29, also of Davis, when they collided with a culvert. The ATV then rolled over multiple times, ejecting both occupants from the vehicle.

Joe White died at the scene of the accident.

Kathryn White was airlifted to the hospital for the treatment of multiple critical injuries, including those to the head, arm, leg, and torso.

9 year-old dead, three others, including 11-year-old, injured in Creek Co. crash

MANNFORD, OK (CREEK COUNTY) – A 9-year-old girl died and three others, including an 11-year-old boy, were injured in a rear-end collision in Creek County on Thursday, according to KFOR.

The accident happened around 5:15 p.m. on State Highway 48, south of Mannford when a 1992 Honda Accord was struck from behind by a 2010 Ford F150.

The 9-year-old girl, a passenger in the Honda, was pinned in the wreckage and suffered arm, internal, and head injuries during the crash. She was declared dead at the scene.

The other child passenger, 11, was taken to the hospital in Tulsa for the treatment of internal and arm injuries. The driver of the Honda, a 32-year-old woman from Bristow, was airlifted to the hospital in Tulsa and was admitted in critical condition, with injuries including damage to her head, internal organs, and arm. It is unclear at this time if the occupants of the Honda were wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened.

The Ford’s driver, a 22-year-old man from Mannford, was sent to the hospital for injuries to the arm and head. He was not wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened.

The Honda’s airbags did not activate during the crash, according to investigators.

Man dies after Beckham County rollover crash

BECKHAM COUNTY, OK – A man died as a result of a rollover crash this afternoon near Erick, OK, according to a report by KFOR.

The accident happened around 12:10 p.m. on Interstate 40 East when a 1997 Ford Ranger blew a tire. The driver was unable to maintain control of the Ford, and it ran off the side of the road and rolled over. It landed upright on its wheels, according to the report.

The victim is Jerry Keith Mabry, 67, of Amarillo, TX, who was a passenger in the vehicle. He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, and was ejected in the collision.

Mabry was admitted to the hospital in critical condition and died there around 1:30 p.m.

The driver of the Ford was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Women Died, Passenger Injured After Crash

A woman was killed and her passenger was injured after crashing her car, an April 29 article of Seqouyah County Times reported.

The incident happened on the afternoon of April 24, in US-40. 71-year-old Shirley Courtney crashed her 2017 Ford Escape into a tree for an unknown reason. Courtney was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, 91-year-old Ingrid Hewett, was taken to Mercy Hospital with head and internal trunk injuries.
