One dead, one in critical condition after Chickasha crash

CHICKASHA, OK (GRADY COUNTY) – One man died and another was critically injured Friday night in a speeding-related crash in Grady County, according to KFOR.

The accident happened at 8:49 p.m. at the ramp for Exit 83 on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike (Interstate 44). A Dodge Ram 1500 containing victims 43-year-old Reford E. Alcorn and 25-year-old Billy M. Johnson, both of Chickasha, was traveling over the speed limit when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The Dodge then rolled over multiple times and ejected both passengers from the pickup truck.

Alcorn died at the scene, and Johnson was transported to an Oklahoma City hospital for the treatment of critical injuries, including those to the head, torso, arm, leg, and internal organs. Neither of the men was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

It is unclear at this point which of the two men was the driver of the pickup truck.

One dead, one injured in Murray County ATV crash

DAVIS, OK (MURRAY COUNTY) – A man died and a woman was seriously injured Friday afternoon following an ATV crash in Murray County, according to KFOR.

The accident happened just before 3 p.m. near Substation Road and U.S. Highway 77.

The driver of the Polaris Razor ATV, 28-year-old Davis man Joe D. White, was riding with passenger Kathryn White, 29, also of Davis, when they collided with a culvert. The ATV then rolled over multiple times, ejecting both occupants from the vehicle.

Joe White died at the scene of the accident.

Kathryn White was airlifted to the hospital for the treatment of multiple critical injuries, including those to the head, arm, leg, and torso.

The accident remains under investigation.

9 year-old dead, three others, including 11-year-old, injured in Creek Co. crash

MANNFORD, OK (CREEK COUNTY) – A 9-year-old girl died and three others, including an 11-year-old boy, were injured in a rear-end collision in Creek County on Thursday, according to KFOR.

The accident happened around 5:15 p.m. on State Highway 48, south of Mannford when a 1992 Honda Accord was struck from behind by a 2010 Ford F150.

The 9-year-old girl, a passenger in the Honda, was pinned in the wreckage and suffered arm, internal, and head injuries during the crash. She was declared dead at the scene.

The other child passenger, 11, was taken to the hospital in Tulsa for the treatment of internal and arm injuries. The driver of the Honda, a 32-year-old woman from Bristow, was airlifted to the hospital in Tulsa and was admitted in critical condition, with injuries including damage to her head, internal organs, and arm. It is unclear at this time if the occupants of the Honda were wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened.

The Ford’s driver, a 22-year-old man from Mannford, was sent to the hospital for injuries to the arm and head. He was not wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened.

The Honda’s airbags did not activate during the crash, according to investigators.

Man dies after Beckham County rollover crash

BECKHAM COUNTY, OK – A man died as a result of a rollover crash this afternoon near Erick, OK, according to a report by KFOR.

The accident happened around 12:10 p.m. on Interstate 40 East when a 1997 Ford Ranger blew a tire. The driver was unable to maintain control of the Ford, and it ran off the side of the road and rolled over. It landed upright on its wheels, according to the report.

The victim is Jerry Keith Mabry, 67, of Amarillo, TX, who was a passenger in the vehicle. He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, and was ejected in the collision.

Mabry was admitted to the hospital in critical condition and died there around 1:30 p.m.

The driver of the Ford was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
