LOGAN COUNTY, OK — Two people, including a DUI suspect, were hospitalized Monday afternoon after a two-vehicle wreck on South Broadway near southwest Guthrie, reports Guthrie News Page.

The accident happened at the intersection with West Seward Road at around 12:09 p.m.

An initial investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol indicates a 49-year-old Guthrie woman was behind the wheel of a 2018 Jeep Wrangler heading northbound at the same time a 60-year-old Edmond resident was driving a 2019 Hyundai southbound. At one point, the Jeep veered past the center line and collided head-on with the Hyundai.

The driver of the Jeep, who was ejected about 10 feet as a result of the crash, suffered injuries to her arm and internal trunk. Guthrie EMS rushed her to OU Medical Center in fair condition.

Medics transported the driver of the Hyundai to Integris Medical Center “with head and trunk internal injuries.”

A section of Broadway was shut down during the emergency response and investigation. In addition to medics and the OHP, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.

Authorities said the driver of the Jeep displayed signs of intoxication at the scene, including an “odor of alcohol.” The cause of the wreck has since been determined to be “DUI.”
